A scholarship of $350 from the Herron school was given to Mr. Yater for study in the East, when awards were announced at commencement time, and in the summer of 1932 he went to the popular Cape Cod painting field at Provincetown, Mass. - made famous many years ago by Charles W. Hawthorne - where he has continued to paint in a medium so well suited to coast scenes and marine subjects.
