18th C Philadelphia Lowboy - Phila Blue Book
This is an important 18th C. (circa 1750) Philadelphia Lowboy. An almost identical low boy can be found on page 28 in the Philadelphia Furniture Blue Book by Hornor Jr. This example was originally provided by Mrs. John H. Easby and is described as a "Neat Spanish foot lowboy, Plate No. 17". Lowboy has a rare four drawer configuration, a molded top over skirt over cabriole legs and Spanish feet. Approx 30 1/2" H x 33" W x 20 3/4" D. It is constructed of walnut and in good condition considering age. The brasses have been replaced. Left front has restoration to original leg. Top has been taken off and reattached. Left front corner block replaced. Back right corner block 1/3 broken. 2" restoration to bottom left front of one drawer (current position bottom left).
