Lot 3127: IVES NINE-PIN SET. (103 views)

Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500
Description: Fabulous early set of nine pins manufactured by Ives Blakeslee in the late 19th century. The wooden pins are covered in lithographed paper with great detailing especially to their faces. Legs and hats are painted in gold pinstriped. Set was patented in 1885 and basically features the same figure but either in red or blue attire. Set comes with what appears to be its original wooden ball with red, yellow and blue stripe. SIZE: 12" t. CONDITION: Overall very good with some minor touch-up where there would be paper loss and a few small repairs to brim of hats where they more than likely fell over and chipped away. 1-12469
