This lot comprises 5 vintage periodicals focused on men's interest, dating from the late 1930s through the mid-1950s. The collection includes 3 issues of Esquire: The Magazine for Men, published by Esquire, Inc. These issues are dated August 1937, October 1946, and November 1947. The covers feature the publication's signature "Esky" mascot in various scenarios, including a beach scene, a group of firefighters, and a football game. The lot also contains the August 1951 issue of Modern Man: The Picture Magazine for Men, published by Publishers' Development Corp. This issue prominently features "Elvgren Creates a Calendar!" on the cover, depicting the work of pin-up artist Gil Elvgren. The front cover of this issue includes a stamped or handwritten number "629." Completing the collection is the January 1955 issue of True: The Man's Magazine, published by Fawcett Publications. This is designated as a "Special Auto Show Issue... The 1955 Cars" and features a composite cover showing various True magazine editions. The magazines are quarto in size and softbound in their original pictorial wrappers. Interior content includes a variety of photography, illustrations, and articles. Notable features visible in the interior include a piece on "Live Steamers" model engines and an illustrated nature story titled "Great Cat-Eyed Bird" by Russell Annabel, with illustrations by C. E. Monroe, Jr.
