A collection of five vintage mid-century advertising pin-up calendars and related promotional ephemera dating from 1947 to 1954. These items feature "cheesecake" style illustrations used for marketing by various industrial and commercial firms. The collection includes Power Electric Company (Jackson, Mississippi) wall calendar for December 1947, featuring a pin-up illustration by Gil Elvgren titled "It's Nothing to Sneeze At." The reverse side includes a detailed list of industrial stock and represented brands such as Westinghouse and Gates Rubber Company. A. Reed Wilson Co. (Kansas City, Missouri) narrow wall calendar for May 1951, featuring a pin-up in a white bikini with the slogan "Get in the Swim." The advertisement is for maintenance supplies and equipment. The Perolin Company, Inc. (Manufacturing Chemists) calendar pad for July, August, and September 1953, featuring a Gil Elvgren illustration titled "What's the Answer?" depicting a woman playing a flute. The reverse side features a detailed advertisement for boiler treatment products. Neely Enterprises promotional advertisement for an electronics sales and service company, featuring two pin-up illustrations by Gil Elvgren and a calendar pad for September 1953. Rayco Paint Co. (Chicago, Illinois) calendar advertisement for sign and screen process supplies, featuring a pin-up in a red and white outfit with calendar pads for September and October 1954. This item is housed in a clear protective sleeve.
