A U.S. foot officer's sword manufactured by W.H. Horstmann & Sons of Philadelphia. Grip guard and scabbard are in overall good condition and wrapped with gold tassel. Blade still shows engravings of scrollwork patterns, but suffered from corrosion throughout.
