Egypt, Ptolemaic to Romano-Egyptian Period, ca. 3rd century BCE to 2nd century CE. A faience phallic charm, molded and glazed in vibrant turquoise blue with yellow highlights., depicting a complete phallus and testes. A suspension loop is present at the top for threading as a protective amulet. Ithyphallic symbols were believed to bring good fortune, particularly as good luck charms during the Roman period. Phallic imagery was associated with fertility, protection, and vitality, often linked to deities such as Min, the god of fertility, and Bes, a protective deity. Size: 0.6" L x 0.3" W (1.5 cm x 0.8 cm)
