This is a 19th Century (c 1800 - 1825) Philadelphia sewing table. A similar, almost identical, table can be found in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, bequeathed by Caroline D. Bache (according to article found with the piece). It has a curly maple top and mahogany surround. Also has a lyre music base with brass/bronze mounts. It does have some loss to veneer and one loose cookie cutter end. It is in need some some restoration. It measures approx 30" H x 22 1/2" W x 16 1/4" D.
