French Art Deco Silverplate Tea Set
ca. 1925, by Saglier Freres, Paris, including:
a teapot, h. 6", l. 9-1/2";
a coffeepot, h. 7-1/4", l. 8-3/4";
a covered sugar bowl, h. 4-3/8", w. 6-3/4";
a cream jug, h. 3-3/4", l. 6"; and
a tray, 22-3/4" x 14-3/8";
the hollowware with a tapering body of ovoid section, decorated with stepped geometric shoulders, with rosewood inlaid finials and rosewood handles, all monogrammed "RM", conjoined, the tray en suite.

**Losses to the silvering on the cream jug, including a 1-1/2" x 3/4" area on one side, and above and to the sides of the monogram on the other (visible in the catalogue illustration). A 5/8" dent on the lip of the coffeepot spout. Wear to the wood finish on all handles, the sugar bowl finial and the tray. No significant dents noted beyond some minor dings consistent with age. Slight give in the teapot handle, though it appears secure. Each piece marked on the underside with the Saglier Freres trademark, the mark of Victor Saglier and silver content in grams.
