**Originally Listed At $400**

Egypt, Middle Kingdom to Third Intermediate period, 11th to 25th Dynasty, ca. 2055 to 664 BCE; South Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A fascinating pair of miniatures: a stone scaraboid seal from ancient Egypt and a 19th-century stamped glass amulet of the Hindu monkey god Hanuman. The Egyptian seal is incised with a figure, likely a pharaoh or deity, in a shendyt striding right as they hold a scepter in one hand and gesture with the other. Alternatively, Hanuman is shown in a dramatic state of intense motion as he wields a mace. Size of larger (scaraboid seal): 1.1" L x 0.7" W (2.8 cm x 1.8 cm)

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
