Ancient Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A gathering of ancient glazed faience beads exhibiting polychrome hues, each strung to construct a stylized anthropomorphic face. The yellow nose, semicircular eyes, petite mouth, and layered broad collar all come together to form a visage from the past. Beneath the stylized countenance is a winged scarab with a black carapace, and along the bottom are the 4 traditional canopic jars, each bearing a head of one of the Sons of Horus. Size: 5.7" W x 9.7" H (14.5 cm x 24.6 cm)
