Two small 12mo volumes, each with half-titles and the rare chromolithographic pictorial titles likely used as wrappers and printed in red, blue, green, black, and metallic gold inks, each pictorial title bound before its respective typographical title page; designed as a Renaissance-style architectural composition featuring a seated woman holding a bird in the foreground, and a standing gentleman with crossed arms accompanied by two dogs across from her; the set bound in uniform contemporary half olive calf and marbled paper boards, worn, sewing compromised, a pocket edition, the first edition published after the copyright expired in 1839; each 5 x 3 1/2 in.
