Description: Mid 19th Century; 92.25in in height, 55in wide 24in in depth, absolutely stunning and beautiful, we are begging at the top crest, has shaped ormolu crest with gold gilt feather and scrolls, with rosewood veneer satin holly wood inlay with a 2in x 7in painted porcelain panel with white and red roses, flank by vertical inlays, brass trim and ormolu mount gold gilt scrolls, has 6 capped urns finials with crown moldings below, center section is hooded with black ebonized trim with center 1.5in round porcelain panel, flanked by 2 corner porcelain panels, center hood has 4 original beveled glass mirrors with black ebonized shelf, lower center has 2 hinged doors measuring 16.25 x 11in each with 8 individual original beveled glass windows with mirror back center doors are flanked by 2 hinged doors with 7in x 5in hand painted porcelain plaques of royalty figures, each door is flanked by figural shelf sconce with statuses of men holding scrolls, has 2 lower drawers with multi color satin wood inlay of ribbons and flowers, top portion of cabinet has brass bead work throughout, counter has beautiful high grade burl veneer with piano key inlay, with multicolor woods, has brass trim moldings, has center drawer in apron with center roman empire oval porcelain medallion surrounded by picture frame inlay, draw front Is hinged and has a writing surface, has 4 interior draws with beautiful brass handles, draw front and apron has ormolu mounts with hand painted porcelain floral medallions, supported by 2 beautiful black ebonized shaped columns with hand painted porcelain medallions, brass bead work, center open shelf is shaped, high grade burl mahogany, brass bead work trim with mirror back, side apron repeats same pattern, has beautiful rectangular brass capes above feet, Condition this 2 piece unit has not been altered or any restoration, has minor scratches, chips, loss, and shrinkage throughout, it is structurally sound and tight this object has just been recently discovered here in North Carolina, we encourage all collectors of 19th century French furniture to please come and visit this piece at our gallery Provenance: Private Durham NC Collection
