There is a classic French 19th century round brass plated spring driven eight day time and bell striking movement. The rear of the movement is covered by a original brass skeletonized door... Condition: As mentioned above, the condition of the statue and case truly determine the value of this clock, rather than the movement, although it is important that it be in running condition. the overall condition appears to be good. There is a very small chip (barely noticeable) on the front left corner of the clock's marble base and 3 small chips on the corners of the candle holder marble bases. The clock is functioning and the statue appears intact with the exception of a broken finger (barely noticeable). Regarding the appraised value-The size of Guillemin's statues, in addition to their quality determines the value. His 8" figures tend to bring $400-$500 at auction; 20" statues by this sculptor are in the $2000-$2500 range; 30" works are in the $5-$6000 range; 40-45" scuptures have brought $40-$50,000 while sculptures of well known specific individuals have reached beyond the $75,000 level.
