Ancient Greece, Geometric Period, ca. 7th century BCE; Roman, late Imperial Period to early Byzantine Empire, ca. late 4th to 6th century CE. A collection of 3 ancient bronze implements; a bracelet, bell, and crucible. The Greek bracelet is cast from bronze with incised motifs and flared terminal ends. The cast-bronze bell of a hemispherical form a handle loop, and an opening just under the handle with a bar for suspending the clapper (now absent). The tiny dish shaped disc is labeled as a crucible, this is perhaps a piece or a foot from a larger vessel. Size of bracelet: 3" Diameter x 1" W (7.6 cm x 2.5 cm)

  • Bending and losses to bracelet as shown. Bell is missing clapper, otherwise intact and very good with mineral encrustations and patina. Bowl is covered with wax or clear coating and surface is tacky.
