The finely executed likeness of a gentleman in circa 1830s garb painted by hand and displayed in an oval frame with pendant bail is unsigned and the sitter is not identified. The back side is centered by an oval frame for hair enclosed by an unusual blue glass oval frame with cracks. There is no hair memorial, only the cloth backing.

Measures 2.75 x 2 inches.
