ca. 1797 & late 19th century; dated 1797 and initialed "C.B.P." carved walnut wood butter scoop with notch topped tapered handle and right angle carved rounded scoop, handle with early ink marked date and initial, attributed to Central PA, 5 1/2"x 9 1/2"x 3", Condition: as found, early chips to leading edges; odd sawn and carved butter scoop with initials "P.G." and lightly carved suit of card symbols heart, club, spade and diamond, surface of scoop is still rough from saw marks, 5"x 8 3/4"x 3", Condition: early make-do repair to break on handle, later drilled hanger hole added
