335 lots of rare books and manuscripts from the 15th to the 21st centuries, many of which are luxuriously illustrated. Highlights include a complete 15th century illuminated Book of Hours manuscript on vellum, an extensive collection of Trianon Press facsimiles of William Blake’s illustrated books, and a collection of over one hundred models of eggs produced by award-winning children’s author Nancy Willard, each signed by literary greats and notable speakers that visited Vassar College while she was a Professor of English there. Also featured are several highlights of Japanese woodblock books by Hokusai, Nantei, and Soken. Early printed books stand alongside modern first editions of children’s books and many more highlights and uncommon finds in between, making this a miscellany sale not to be missed for a broad swath of collectors.
