Teel Auction

I started selling antiques part time with my wife in the early '80's we started going to auctions. I quickly became interested in the profession. I soon started in the auction business part time in 1987 as a runner for Herman Green (Green Acres Auctions) in Walnutport, PA. It wasn't too long after that I received my apprentice license through him and in 1990 obtained my auctioneer's license. I continued to work part time in the auction business and started doing sales on my own for a few years My full time job was at Bethlehem Area Vo-Tech School as an instructor in the Automotive Body/Collision Repair course. I continued to work 2 jobs and later was offered an associate auctioneer position at Dotta Auction Company in Nazareth, PA in the fall of '96 . In 1999, I won the Pennsylvania Bid Calling Championship Contest in Harrisburg, PA. I retired in 2008 from my teaching position and I continued my career at Dotta Auction Company, but still only on a part time basis. In 2018 I left Dotta's and was going to retire from the business but soon started working part time for Teel's Auction. I currently help out Teel's and other auctioneers as called upon. I love this profession and will continue to keep going as long as I can. I'm also passionate with old cars and trucks, do my own restorations in my free time.
