Lot: 700 - 1946-1952 McCoy Racing Car Tether Car

The first car designed by Dick McCoy and produced by the Duro-Matic Corporation was the McCoy Racing Car and commonly known as the Teardrop. This example is powered by a Hornet .60 engine with a Reg Pink head. Beautiful paint and scallops by Tony Orlando.

Lot: 702 - 1946 Dooling F Tether Car

This sixth car of the Dooling series was patterned after the Kurtis Kraft midget of the day. The body and pan are magnesium. The car is equipped with a Dooling .61 Yellow Jacket engine that drives the ball bearing bevel gear differential and includes twin gas tanks, custom dash, gauges, steering wheel, hand brake and pump. Beautiful paint and lettering by Tony Orlando. This is truly a Yellow Jacket Special.

Lot: 703 - 1968 Hisso Tether Car by Don Edmunds

This car was designed and built by Don Edmunds and is representative of the outstanding work by a master craftsman. This car is powered by a Saito 4-Stroke engine and features details such as leather seat, dash with gauges, steering wheel, windshield, fuel pump, wires wheels and chrome exhaust pipe. The design and finish of the Edmunds Hisso cars are outstanding.

Built by Robert Cameron of Cameron Engineering of Sonora, California. This Hot Rod style mite tether car is powered by a Cameron .15 engine. Throw a set of spur gears. A fine example of an all original Rodzy Hot Rod with original box.

In 1946 Warren Borden of Zion, Illinois produced this car commonly known as the Tear Drop, or V-car. Powered by a Dooling .61 engine, this car is complete with all internal components. A fine example of the Borden Tear Drop.

This original Dooling Arrow is a wonderful example of a never run car. Complete with a Dooling .61 engine and all the original component, including the fuel shut-off and never painted body. A true survivor.

The sign features unique porcelain enamel colors with a large bulldog graphic in the upper center field. Side #1 has an exceptionally clean field with minor surface imperfections and a tiny chip in the lower left outer field below the "F". Lot: 872 - Palace Shoe Service "While You Wait" 10.5' Porcelain Factory Neon Sign w/ Cobbler & Cigar "Animated"

This exceptional double-sided porcelain die-cut animated neon sign from Palace Shoe Service is a rare and important piece of Rockford, Illinois history. Manufactured by C.A. Pierce & Co., the sign features brilliant neon illumination with animated sequencing, including a cobbler modeled after former owner Johnny Antonucci whose hammer appears to strike a shoe while the row of shoes below lights in sequence. Following the closure of Palace Shoe Service in 2021 after 95 years of operation, the sign was removed in May 2023 and completely gone through. All eight transformers, over 250 feet of GTO cable, all primary wiring, and the animation timers were replaced or recreated to original specifications. The interior structural steel was cleaned and treated for preservation. More than half of the neon glass was replaced to restore the sign's original appearance after more than 40 years of not being lit up. The sign retains excellent color and gloss with only minor edge chips and age-related wear and showing some perimeter areas of discoloration. Combining documented provenance, impressive scale, and outstanding animated graphics, this amazing neon sign represents an exceptional example of American roadside advertising.
