Lot: 1370 - ROGERS & SPENCER ARMY REVOLVER, .44 CAL
ROGERS & SPENCER ARMY REVOLVER, .44 CAL An excellent offering of what some consider the best revolver of the Civil War era. The Rogers & Spencer company began design and production of the firearm with the end of Colt's patent on their revolving mechanism. The U.S. Army did open a contract with Rogers & Spencer for 5,000 units in January of 1865 although delivery on this order came too late for the pistols to see wartime service. The firearm features a deep-blued finish with octagonal barrel, and smooth walnut grip panels. This specific example is in overall excellent condition with its blued finish entirely intact, excellent rifling, and smooth operation of the mechanism. A must-have for any Civil War collection. S/N: 2976, Cal: .44 Blackpowder, BBL: 7 1/2", OAL: 13 1/2"
Lot: 1371 - SAVAGE 1861 NAVY REVOLVER, .36 CAL
SAVAGE 1861 NAVY REVOLVER, .36 CAL An offering of a very forward-thinking Civil War revolver. The Savage 1861 Navy Revolver was a truly unique design for the time that aimed to address a number of issues present in other contemporary designs. The firearm is most easily recognizable for its double trigger set-up, a lower ring hammer serving to advance the cylinder and cock the hammer without the user having to adjust their grip. During this movement, the cylinder can also be seen to move backwards and forwards during its rotation, this coupled with the slightly recessed faces of the chambers served to eliminate the issues caused by the typical gap between cylinder and barrel. This particular example is in overall good condition for its age, the original blued finish is about 60% remaining with limited areas of light pitting throughout, the percussion nipples are in varying states of wear and damage, and the rifling is in fair condition with visible lines and grooves but several areas of frosting and some pitting. Mechanically the revolver is in excellent condition for its age with normal function. Caliber: .36 Cal Blackpowder, BBL: 7", OAL: 14 1/2"
Lot: 1372 - COLT 1860 ARMY REVOLVER, .44 CAL

Rifling still appears in good condition, and all mechanical function of the firearm are normal. All serial numbers are matching and fit the description in Colt's records, which note this specific gun as being manufactured in 1863. S/N: 130664, Caliber: .44 Blackpowder, BBL:8", OAL: 13 1/2"
Lot: 1373 - EXQUISITE GERMAN PERCUSSION LOCK PISTOL, "NO. 1"
EXQUISITE GERMAN PERCUSSION LOCK PISTOL, "NO. 1" An offering of an excellent pistol from one of the leading weapon manufacturing centers in Germany, Herzberg am Harz. This firearm bears the markings of "Tanner a Herzberg" on the lockplate and "No. 1" on the trigger guard. This likely references one of the leading arms inspectors for the Königliche Gewehrfabrik, Johann Casimir Tanner, who along with his descendants also sold firearms from his own personal shop. The pistol features an octagonal barrel mounted to checkered walnut furniture with ornately engraved lockplate and trigger guard. The pistol also includes its original ram rod with horn tip and wad screw end. Most surprisingly, the firearm posses an elevation adjustable rear V-notch sight, the height of which is controlled by a square-topped screw operated by a turn key. The bore is cut with microrifling which is still visible but has areas of frosting throughout. Don't miss out on this truly unique piece of German weapons history.

Lot: 1375 - COLT 1877 "THUNDERER" REVOLVER, .41 CAL

This particular revolver is a "Sheriff's" variant featuring a nickel finish throughout with checkered rosewood grip panels and no ejection rod. While these were originally offered in a nickel finish, this revolver was likely refinished as many of Colt's markings on the barrel and frame are severely worn down and in some cases barely visible. Otherwise the revolver is in very good condition with no signs of corrosion, good rifling, and normal mechanical function. While a very advanced design for the time, the revolvers gained a negative reputation and the derisive nickname "The Gunsmith's Favorite" for the tendency of the double-action mechanism to break under normal use. Most significant is its size, with this revolver being primarily marketed to the civilian market as a pocket revolver with a smaller overall size to its Colt counterpart. Part of this also includes the cylinder, which is only a five-shot that also incorporates extra cylinder stops for the purpose of keeping the hammer off of a percussion cap while being carried. This particular revolver is from the "Series III" run of production, featuring a blued finish, octagonal barrel, cylinder engraved with several scenes of self-defense, smooth wood grips and a brass trigger guard. The pistol is in overall good condition with wear commensurate with its age. Rifling is in good condition with some small areas of frosting and one of the percussion nipples is missing.
