Lot: 91 - Frank Wallace Oil on Canvas Archive

Frank Wallace (Stowe VT 1918-2003) retrospective collection of approximately 90 various oil on canvas paintings including landscape, portraits, abstract, nudes, un-stretchered, in various sizes of 40" canvas to 14". Wallace was a political radical and was blacklisted in the mid 1950s and left the country for a number of years. He lived in Europe, studying and spending time with well known contemporary artists such as Demetrios Galanis. He sold pieces to a number of high society collectors throughout the world, including Nelson A. Rockefeller and Hazel Guggenheim McKinley. His work is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as well as in Paris and Vienna.
