Over 4,000 Lots

We are excited to announce our 31st Annual Carolina Country Store Auction. The auction will be a live in-house gallery event. Select items will also be available for online bidding. Collections highlighted in this event are the Lifetime 1850s-1930s Tobacciana Collection of the late Charlie Casper of Chapel Hill N.C., Burnett Pepsi Cola Collection, Private S.C. Bottle and Tobacco Collection, Drugstore and Pharmacy Related Artifacts, and many other interesting estate discoveries. We look forward to seeing all of our friends in the antique advertising community at this event.

Preview Times:

Public viewing for our Annual Carolina Country Store Event will begin Monday July 29th through Wednesday July 31st, 9:00 AM For Registration, Absentee and Phone Bidding, Seat Reservations, and item inspection will be available during these hours.

Showroom Gallery viewing will begin at 8:00 AM daily during this event.

Parking Lot Trading:

Parking Lot trading will be available for pre-registered bidders only. Sale tax numbers must be on file for all vendors that are participating. Trading will begin at sunrise each day of event July 31st (ending at 12:45 PM), August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and will be available until 9:45 AM. All RVs, trucks, and oversized trailers are welcome.

Hotel Accommodations:

If you are an out of state visitor, please make reservations at Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites located in Mebane. Other local hotels and campgrounds include The Acorn Suites, Fairfield Inn and Suites, The Inn at Bingham School, Jones Station RV Park, Wishing Well RV Park, and Cassidy Hills RV Park. Other accommodations are available throughout Burlington and Durham/Chapel Hill NC.


Local Interests and Attractions:

Historic Downtown Mebane is widely known for its bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops, antique shops, the Tanger Outlets, and many other family friendly attractions. Please visit our website at www.mebaneauction.com for more information.

Drinks and snacks will be available during the sale. Outside drinks and snacks are welcome, as well as a Valero Gas Station is within walking distance.

Lot 5: Rare Red Goose Shoes Large Porcelain Die-Cut Neon Sign: Early 20th Century; Original, 41" height,18" width; outstanding example of a die-cut porcelain sign; titled “Red Goose Shoes” with red body trimmed in yellow; appears to be the original glass neon tubing throughout; back of display appears to have the original metal can housing; the primary surface edge having some minor wear and some chipping at base; overall condition is excellent and in working condition; after close inspection we believe this piece to be all original and encourage serious collectors to view this piece; please see photos. Lot 8: Rare NR Tums Laxative Porcelain Thermometer: Early 20th Century; Original, 26.5" height, 7.5" width; very rare, original example; titled “NR All Vegetable Laxative Come In If You Get It Here It’s Good Tums Quick Relief For Acid Indigestion”; beautiful American Patriotic colors with shadowing and letters and an art deco design with ribbon below tube centered with mortar and pestle; colors are outstanding, bottom edge has chipping otherwise excellent; please see photos. Tin litho five-sided countertop hinged lidded straw holder. Top is titled Drink Welch’s The National Drink. Front below opening is marked Welch’s The National Drink from Choicest Concordes Do More Than Ask For Grape Juice Say Welch’s And Get It. Side panels titled Get The Welch Habit and Keep A Supply Of Welch’s In The Home. Back panel has artwork of paper label bottle with straw. Entire exterior has beautiful Art Nouveau designs of grape vines and clusters. When opened, has interior flap to keep straws pushed forward. Has paint loss, minor staining, otherwise excellent. Lot 198: Very Rare Teem Display Bottle Santa On A Ladder Display: Mid 20th Century; Original, 68” height. Base: 19.5” by 13”. Extremely rare and important discovery from the Burnett-Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. Roxboro NC.  We believe this to have been well kept with original plastic cover and that it has remained in original packaging. Artwork of figural Santa Claus stepping on titled ladder with elf. Dressed in classic Teem green. Ladder is connected to platform base with Teem lemon logo on front panel only. Ladder and platform has green and gold glitter surface. Also accompanying this lot is a signed and dated document by Donald L. Bagby product manager of Teem and Patio flavors. Pepsi Cola Co. 500 Park Ave. New York NY.  Letter dated 1968 about Christmas promotions. Has artwork and directions of this display titled The great profit Teem. Coca Cola Porcelain Sign: Early 20th Century; Original; 42” height, 60” width; very rare and important two-sided porcelain sign with N.C. history titled “Drink Coca-Cola Delicious and Refreshing” privilege panel is titled “Drug Store”; repeats on opposite side; lower left marked “Made in USA 1933”; lower right marked “Tenn. Enamel MFG. Co. Nashville”: beautiful, outstanding colors throughout with red, white, yellow and green; art deco perimeter; sign is in original unrestored, uncleaned condition; after close inspection, only has tiny spots of porcelain chips; please view photos; This important sign has never been offered to the public, and has descended through the consigner’s family by way of Pine Level, NC; History of Godwin Drug Company: Mr. Berry Godwin operated a hardware business prior to and into the early 1920’s, at the southern corner of East Pine Street and Peedin Avenue. This building was torn down to make room for a new brick building for Godwin Drug Company. Lot 309: Very Fine Rare Victorian Walnut Dental Cabinet: Late 19th Century; Original; 78” height and 33” width and 32” depth. Very rare and important Victorian walnut marble top dental cabinet. Beginning at the top, has shaped crest with geometric circle with turned spindles below. Flanked by four capt turned finials. Three open shelves below and carved brackets. Counter has hinged box cover. When raised, reveals 20 burl wood drawers. One drawer having metal dividers and can. Also appears to be a burner. Marble counter with four divided drawers below. Supported by tapered reeded legs. Cabinet appears to be complete with all matching brass hardware and key escutcheons. After close inspection, one leg needs dowel tightening.
