The Republican Court (Lady Washington’s Reception Day) Color Engraving by Huntington. Includes a framed whos who. Measures 29"x42.5"x1". and 15.5"x21"x2". Weight combined 19 pds. In 1973, Steven and James formed Lundberg Studios in Davenport California. Steven’s skills continued to grow, and he has since developed into a master glassmaker. His talents include shaping, decorating, casting, lampworking, torchworking, and lapidary. His inventive skills as a fabricator of technical equipment, has gained him recognition in the world of glass-blowing. His ability to create complex glass formulas has enabled him to design glass art that is envied by his peers. With the untimely passing of his brother James in 1992, Steve continued his work at Lundberg Studios. In January 1997, along with his wife Ola and son Justin, Steve created his own studio in California. In 2002 in the process of moving to his state of the art studio in Oregon, Steven was diagnosed with ALS. In this talented Lundberg family, Steven’s son Justin has inherited the skills of a master glass blower. He continuing the family tradition creating his own series of art glass. The new Oregon studio has been completed under the influence of Steven and new and exciting works of art are taking form . Steve’s creations are on display in many permanent collections such as The Smithsonian Institute, the White House, The Corning Museum of Glass, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of American Glass and the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum. Steven Lundberg Glass Art is exhibited in fine galleries and catalogs worldwide. Lot: 50 - 1918 RUSSIAN TOBACCO STOCK CERTIFICATE

1918 The Russian Tobacco Company Stock Certificate No C2012. Signed and Dated October 29, 1918. 10 Shares with all dividend coupons attached.Professionally matted and Framed. In frame 20.25"x20"x1/2". Weight 5 pds.The Sarreguemines pottery was established about 1784 by brothers Nicholas-Henri and Paul-Augustin Jacobi and partner Joseph Fabry. The enterprise remained unsuccessful until 1800 when Paul Utzschneider assumed management. Thereafter, the business expanded and prospered. The Sarreguemines factory produced most of the original tiles used during the construction of the Paris metro. Majolica was added to its production in the 1860s. At the conclusion of the Franco-Prussian War in 1874, Sarreguemines became German territory. In order to maintain the firm’s French nationality, two additional facilities were constructed in Digoin and Vitry-le-François. Sarreguemines ceased production in 2007 and the firm was subsequently liquidated.

The Sarreguemines pottery was established about 1784 by brothers Nicholas-Henri and Paul-Augustin Jacobi and partner Joseph Fabry. The enterprise remained unsuccessful until 1800 when Paul Utzschneider assumed management. Thereafter, the business expanded and prospered. The Sarreguemines factory produced most of the original tiles used during the construction of the Paris metro. Majolica was added to its production in the 1860s. At the conclusion of the Franco-Prussian War in 1874, Sarreguemines became German territory. In order to maintain the firm’s French nationality, two additional facilities were constructed in Digoin and Vitry-le-François. Joachim (Jack) Probst (1913-1980), Black And White Ink Wash Abstract Painting. Done in 1955. Composed of black and white ink wash painting, this abstract painting on paper comprises Probst’s signature style that greatly influenced fellow American abstract expressionist artist Franz Kline’s slashing brushstrokes style. With stylistic elements of Willem de Kooning and Kline’s, this ink wash on paper is distinctly modern and expressive in the dynamic use of shapes and lines. The painting is signed on the front. Professionally framed and matted. In frame measures 14"x24"x1". Weight 4 pds 3 oz. Joachim Probst (1913–1980) was a notorious bohemian in Greenwich Village from 1936 to the mid 1970s. From the early 1940s onward, he fluidly pursued two styles in parallel. One style was the figurative expressionism in which he presented the Crucifixion and Biblical spectacles. His other style was completely non-objective, typically painted as black ink washes — which grew to become an extensive series he called the Night Works. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Rear Admiral William Henry Allen and Mrs. Thayer Capers Allen. Rear Admiral Allen was a native of Florence SC and Mrs. Allens parents were from Charleston, SC (Rev. William Henry Capers and Anna Margaret Missroon)/ Rear Admiral Allen graduated from the Naval Academy in 1901. During his illustrious career he participated in and was awarded medals in seven wars including WWII. He was awarded the Legion of Merit in 1944 by FDR for exceptionally meritorious conduct which contributed materially to the successful operations of the fleet and were decisive factors in driving enemy submarines from our coastal waters. He was awarded an honorary Doctorate by the University of SC. Rear Admiral Allen was a Captain of the Charleston Navy Yard 1926-1927. In May 1934 he assumed command of the 16th Naval District in Cavite, Philippine Islands. In March 1935 he was ordered to duty as the Commander of the Yangtze Patrol in China. From 1938 to 1942 the Allens resided in the Admirals Quarters on the Charleston Navy Yard while he served as Commandant of the 6th, 7th and 8th Naval Districts during the run up to WWII. The Allens were consummate entertainers and collectors, especially of Asian Porcelain, Antiques and Art.
