Early 19th century portrait of a couple in an interior. Apparently unsigned. Partially removed Christie's label on the stretcher. Dimensions: (Frame) H 39.75" x W 33.5", (Canvas) H 35.25" x W 29.5" Condition: Painting lined. With crazing, some surface scratches. Craquelure throughout. Possible restorations.

8-arm drop crystal chandelier. Dimensions: H 46" x Dia. 32" Condition: Some crystals chipped, others missing. Tarnish. Some pieces bent out of place. In need of rewiring.

Three-piece construction. Extensive drawers, inlaid surfaces. Drawers are 20th century construction. Dimensions: H 71" x W 46" x D 26" Condition: Some losses to inlay. Appears to have sun bleaching to one side.

Signed "L.C. Tiffany - Favrile." Dimensions: H 2.5" x Dia. 8" Condition: Small nicks under the foot rim. Apparently wrapped up since the '70's.

Lot: 9 - PAIR ANTIQUE ITALIAN GILT POLYCHROME CANDLE PRICKS

Pair of 3-light candle pricks in carved and painted giltwood and gesso with metal arms and bobeches. Dimensions: H 21.5" x W 9.5" x D 6" Condition: One candelabra with large crack through center, both with smaller stress cracks; chips and losses to paint, gilding and gesso; a few bends and some rusting to exposed metal.

Lot: 10 - ROYAL COPENHAGEN FLORA DANICA OVAL ACCENT DISH

Royal Copenhagen porcelain small oval dish from the "Flora Danica" pattern, with branch handle and applied flowers, decorated in the "Vaccinium vitis-idaea" (Lingonberry) motif. Dimensions: H 2.5" x W 9" x D 6.75" Condition: No issues to note.

Lot: 11 - EDWARD POTTHAST (1857-1927) O/C NUDE STUDY

Standing nude. Signed lower left. Canvas laid down on board. With Potthast's address verso. In a carved frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 39" x W 30.5", (Painting) H 29.25" x W 21" Condition: Some warping at the bottom of the board. Painting clean. Varnished. Repaired tear upper center through the sitter's hair. Some rubbing along the edges. Liner with some staining.

Lot: 13 - PAIR SIGNED HENRI VIAN FRENCH DORE CHERUB CHENETS

Exquisite pair of French gilt bronze fireplace chenets in the form of cherubim, dating from the Late 19th- Early 20th Century. Each signed H. Vian along back right edge; attributed to known bronzier Henri Vian (1860-1905). Dimensions: H 13" x W 8" x D 10" Condition: Showing normal wear consistent with age and use; some rubbing to gilding, a few pits, small dings, and spots of tarnish and verdigris to bronze.

Lot: 14 - MAJOLICA PORCELAIN JEWELRY OR DRESSER BOX

Fabulous porcelain trinket box, adorned with brightly colored Classical scenes of nymphs, cherubs, muses, and goddesses in relief. Possibly Capodimonte, with crowned N mark underneath. Dimensions: H 4" x W 8.5" x D 5.25" Condition: Minor tarnish to brass collar, a few light rubs to decoration.

Lot: 15 - PAIR OF TOLE CLASSICAL REVIVAL OIL LAMP SCONCES

Pair of unusual oil lamp wall sconces in tole painted and gilded metal; the oil wells mounted with Classical busts. Maker unknown. Dimensions: H 17" x W 3.5" x D 7.25" Condition: Wear consistent with antique age and use; oil wells apparently glued shut; surface dust, rubbing and losses to gilding and paint finish; a few small dings/bends to metal.

Lot: 16 - HENRY ARY (1807-1859) HUDSON RIVER VIEW

Oil on canvas, view of Mount Merino and south bay, Hudson NY. Appears unsigned, has been lined and restored in a period frame. Artist information and view written on new stretcher along with the conservators name and address. Dimensions: Frame: H 35" x W 44.5" Painting: H 27" x W 36" Condition: Lined, new stretcher, painting has been cleaned, varnished, no visible restorations but possible, One or two recent, light surface scratches.

Lot: 17 - C. 1911 OAK GENERAL STORE COUNTERTOP SEED CABINET

Rare monumental Sherer-Gillett Co. general store countertop - used for the merchandising and storage of seeds, grains, and other items bought in bulk. Solid oak construction, with (23) drawers of varying sizes, each with a corresponding display front that can be removed and filled with a sample of the drawer's contents. Brass plaque reads The Sherer Counter; Sherer-Gillett Co., Chicago; with latest patent date 1911. Dimensions: H 34" x W 142.75" x D 29" Condition: Missing one drawer. Otherwise showing normal antique wear, including patina, scuffs, marks, small chips and losses to edges and drawer fronts consistent with age and use. *Important Note: This item must be picked up from our Bridgeport annex.

Lot: 18 - LOUIS WALTRIN FRENCH ROCOCO ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK

Highly ornate gilt bronze chiming mantel clock adorned with a female figure from Classical myth, perched over sweeping foliate and floral motifs; its case pierced at the center to reveal the pendulum. Marked Waltrin on dial and movement. Dimensions: H 25" x W 16" x D12" Condition: Clock not currently running; movement not tested or professionally examined. Dial with small chip to enamel at right edge; bronze with minor rubs to gilding, a few spots of verdigris.

Lot: 22 - 18TH C. HUDSON VALLEY CORNER CABINET IN BLUE PAINT

C. 1760 - 1780, Hudson Valley, in original blue paint. Orange painted interior. Three shelf opening with sliding shelf and cabinet below. Remains of original paint on interior. Well worn surface from handling. Provenance; from the Blackburn collection, in the oldest know home in Columbia county, NY Dimensions: H 78" x W 46" x D 19" Condition: Lacking upper doors. Some surface rubbing. Wear at base.

Apparently unsigned. Dimensions: (Without base) H 18.25" x W 9" x D 10.5" (Base) H 6" x W 9.5" x D 8.25" Condition: Sculpture with some surface dirt and natural imperfections to marble. Rubbing, scuffs, and a few water spots to base.

Unusual pair of student lamps converted to candelabras; in red painted metal with brass accents and pressed glass optic swirl hurricane shades. Stamped Italy on brass candle holders. Once electrified. Dimensions: (With shades) H 22" x W 13" x D 6.5" Condition: Wear consistent with antique age and use; at least two layers of paint applied; paint with some flaking and losses; rusting and oxidation to exposed metal. Tarnish to brass; finials bent. Hurricanes with a few nicks and flea bites to rims.

Lot: 27 - MONUMENTAL ART NOUVEAU-STYLE OAK HUTCH CABINET

Beautiful oak cabinet in the Art Nouveau style, with leaded glass doors, carved applique and brass mounts. Keys included; disassembles into two segments. Dimensions: H 89" x W 79" x D 29" Condition: Large stress crack to top surface of lower segment. A few chips and losses to edges, a few water marks, one gouge to top surface, minor rubs and scratches throughout. *Important Note: This item must be picked up from our Bridgeport Annex location.

Large oil on canvas reclining nude with landscape beyond. Signed lower right. With Babcock Galleries label on backing. In a large ornate 19th century frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 40.25" x W 60", (Canvas) H 30" x W 50" Condition: Painting appears to be cleaned and varnished. A shallow scratch at the upper edge. Frame with surface losses.

Pair of 19th century Queen Anne marquety inlaid armchairs with cabriole legs, ball and claw feet, new seat upholstery. Marquetry inlay featuring vase on back splat; floral, foliate, and bird motifs. Dimensions: H 44.5" x W 23" x D 18" x SH 19" Condition: Antique wear consistent with age and use. Old repairs, losses, splits. Seat upholstery clean.

Georges Van der Straeten, Belgian (1856-1928). Cast and gilded bronze bust of a woman; signed, marked B 3247 with Societie des Bronzes de Paris seal on back. Dimensions: H 22.5" x W 16" x D 11" Condition: Spots of finish loss or soiling that do not rub out. A few rubs to gilding, natural aged patina to bronze.

Lot: 32 - PAIR OF 19TH C. FRENCH OILS ON PANEL

Pair of early 19th century oils on panels after Philippe de Mercier. With old attribution to Philippe de Mercier. Both unsigned. Depicting an elegant woman and man in landscapes. Dimensions: (Frame) H 15.25" x W 12", (Panel) H 11.5" x W 8.5" Condition: Both paintings cleaned and varnished. Couple small specks of in-painting. A couple shallow surface cracks. Frames are contemporary reproductions of 18th century frames.

Lot: 33 - 18TH C. DUNLAP-STYLE QUEEN ANNE HIGHBOY

Exceptional early flat-top highboy in the style of the Dunlap family of New Hampshire, with dovetailed drawers, deeply scrolled skirt and period engraved brass hardware (likely original). Light wood, likely maple. Dimensions: H 71.75" x W 40.5" x D 21.5" Condition: Top right drawer with one bottom panel detached; several other drawers with separation, loosening, or stress cracks to interior panels; loss to trim along right side; apparent reinforcements to right legs. Left legs each missing molding on side returns. Joint separation and scattered stress cracks to wood. a few stray paint marks, antique patina including old nicks, scuffs, and small chips throughout. Keys not included.

Lot: 34 - PAIR ANTIQUE FRENCH HORSE CHENETS, AS GARNITURES

Exceptional pair of French Empire-style horse chenets in cast iron with ormolu mounts, modified with custom painted wood backings for display as mantel garnitures or bookends. Apparently unsigned. Dimensions: H 11.25" x W 8.5" x D 4.5" Condition: Metal with antique patina; wood mounts with some small nicks to edges, rubbing and losses to paint finish.

Lot: 35 - 17TH C. DUTCH OLD MASTER RAT CATCHER O/C

17th century oil on canvas rat catcher carrying his flag and traps. Apparently unsigned. Lined. Dimensions: (Painting) H 36.25" x W 28.75" Condition: Old lining with replacement stretcher. Painting with some rubbing and losses. Overall surface craquelure. Uneven varnish.

Lot: 36 - 19TH C. MAHOGANY HIGHBOY CHEST

Traditional Highboy. No markings. Dimensions: H 81" x W 40" x D 18.5" Condition: Bottom left drawer pull is loose. Drawers sides are dovetailed and made of pine. Minor wood chipping where the upper unit connects to the lower unit. Drawer brass hardware is clean but does have some patina. Overall, the highboy has minor scuffs and rubs throughout.

Lot: 37 - VINTAGE LEICA CAMERA

Vintage Leica D.R.P Ernst Leitz Wetzlar with Summar f=5 cm 1:2 with leather case. Dimensions: Case: H 3.5" x W 6" x D 3" Condition: Lens is fairly scratched and shutter in somewhat working condition. Wear and scratches on top of hot shoe. Some corrosion on front dial as well as inside camera. Scratches and dent on the bottom.

Lot: 38 - HAYLEY LEVER (1876-1958) ST. IVES HARBOR O/C

Impressionist view overlooking the harbor to the hills beyond. Apparently unsigned. Good period frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 20" x W 23.5", (Painting) H 14.25" x W 18.25" Condition: Painting lined, with new stretcher. Craquelure to the paint. Some losses in the sky. Frame with flaking surface.

Lot: 39 - PAIR OF ANTIQUE SCENIC PAINTED COUNTRY ARMCHAIRS

Fantastic pair of Folk Art armchairs, likely Dutch; the backrests painted with riverfront scenes, and the slats, stiles, and legs decorated in floral scrolled motifs. With woven rope seats and turned finials. Dimensions: H 43" x W 23" x D 23" x SH 17.5" Condition: Wear consistent with antique age and use, including fading, rubbing and some losses to paint; apparent repairs to slats and stretchers, stress cracks, nicks, scuffs, and gouges to wood; one or both seats apparently re-woven.

Family in an interior with water view beyond. Signed and dated 1879 lower right. In a good 19th century frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 21.5" x W 25.75", (Painting) H 10" x W 14" Condition: Painting lined. With replacement stretcher. Craquelure visible throughout. Looks to possibly have been rolled at one time. Clean varnish, no noticeable restorations. Frame in overall good condition.

Lot: 41 - BIEDERMEIER FRUITWOOD BOOKCASE CABINET

Biedermeier fruitwood and part ebonized display or bookcase cabinet. Fruitwood body, glass with ebonized arrow form elements. Dimensions: H 67" x W 42" x D 18" Condition: Couple loose items. Scraping to bottom where contacts with door. Few small losses and nicks around the corners.

Lot: 42 - OTTO KIRBERG, GERMAN (1850-1926) O/C

Oil on canvas laid down. Young family in a Dutch interior. Signed, dated 1877 lower right. Dimensions: (Frame) H 41" x W 36", (Sight) H 34.75" x W 28.25" Condition: Couple visible spots of repairs at top edge of Delft tiles behind couple upper left edge. Some craquelure in the man's jacket. Few other spots of possible restoration.

North Italian. Painted, with caned backs and tapestry seat covers. A green over red paint. Currently with 19th century tapestry seat covers. Dimensions: H 39" x W 20" x D 18" x SH 19" Condition: Some distress to painted surface. Losses, tears to upholstery.

Oil on metal; apparently unsigned. Dimensions: (Frame) H 25.5" x W 23" (Painting) H 21" x W 18" Condition: Surface with a few light scratches and some light alligatoring to paint.

Lot: 45 - ANTIQUE BOW FRONT CHEST

Bow front chest. Dimensions: H 33.5" x W 38.5" x D Condition: Drawers have dovetail joinery. Overall the chest shows moderate wear for its age. The top shows marks, minor scratches and some spots of varnish removal. The hardware on the drawers are brass and show wear and patina. Inside drawer bottoms have a liner paper but it is not adhered.

Lot: 46 - ALPHONSE QUIZET, FRENCH (1885-1955) O/C

French winter scene. Signed lower right. With 1936 exhibition label verso. Dimensions: (Frame) H 26.5" x W 30", (Canvas) H 18.5" x W 22" Condition: Canvas unvarnished. Slightly dirty surface. Linen liner age stained. Upper right corner of frame lost.

Diminutive Chippendale-style slant front secretary chest of drawers, with drop-down writing surface over two dovetailed drawers. Dimensions: H 19.25" x W 25" x D 13" Condition: Missing key. Scratches, spots of soiling, scuffs, and rubs to wood throughout. Drawer bottoms apparently replaced, a few losses to wood around lock hardware.

Lot: 50 - SUZANNE EISENDIEK, GERMAN (1908-1998) O/C

Oil on canvas. Two girls in a Parisian park. Signed lower left. In a nice swept frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 34" x W 29", (Painting) H 23.5" x W 19.5" Condition: Couple small marks to the frame.

C. Late 19th-Early 20th Century drafting table with adjustable height and tilt angle. Features oak tabletop and cast iron base with original olive green finish. Oil on canvas board. Detailed portrait of a 19th century Western figure with long white beard and hair, cowboy hat. Signed lower left. In a Victorian style frame. Dimensions: (Frame) H 30" x W 26", (Painting) H 20" x W 16" Condition: Painting with a few light surface marks. Frame with age toned linen liner and some losses to the gesso.

Oak with decorative brass mounts. Desk opens when bottom drawer is pulled to reveal three layers and fitted inkwell. Dimensions: H 10" x W 13.25" x D 12.25" Condition: Some wear, tarnish to the mounts. Few small losses to the corners. Unable to open drawer all the way.

Early 19th century. Apparently unsigned. Oil on canvas. Dimensions: (Frame) H 28" x W 24", (Canvas) H 22" x W 18" Condition: Painting with light craquelure. Unvarnished. Appears to have been cleaned. Some thin areas. Frame over-painted.

Lot: 55 - REGENCY SATINWOOD INLAID CASKET FORM TEA CADDY

Early English Regency casket form tea caddy of satinwood and harewood with decorative inlay, c. 1790. With provenance card stating purchased from estate in Gloustershire, England. With two removable caddies/canisters of matching satinwood with hinged lids and the remains of foil linings. In the center is a decorative, footed cut glass bowl. Including key. With lion's head ring handles and paw feet. Dimensions: H 6.75" x W 12.25" x D 6.25" Condition: Antique wear consistent with age and use. Finish loss, fading to wood. Small splits and losses. Flea bites to glass.

Lot: 56 - GEORGE HERBERT MCCORD (1848-1909) LARGE O/C

European water view with sailboats. Oil on canvas. Signed lower right. Probably a Dutch view. In impressive original frame. Frame with label of Edward Jackson. Canvas with stamp of Shark Bros., London. Dimensions: (Frame) H 35" x W 40", (Canvas) H 22" x W 27" Condition: Appears to be in original frame. Framed with glass. Some yellowing to the varnish, particularly in the sky. Some discoloration and a couple losses to the frame.

Carved and painted wood. Christo and cross. With cut tin halo and antique fabric perizonium. Dimensions: H 34" x W 16.5" x D 6.5" Condition: Age toning. Some flaking to paint. Decay to fabric. Old rust to tin.

Oil on canvas. Sheep by a brook in the snow. Signed lower right. Nameplate identifies as "Near Lamorna, Cornwall." Dimensions: (Frame) H 27" x W 25", (Painting) H 18.5" x W 16" Condition: Canvas with some fine cracking in the snow and sky. Dirty surface, needs cleaning. Linen liner with a few spots.

Handsome antique lap desk in burl wood veneer with metal plaque to top reading "Madge Laidlaw / 25th Decr. / 1890." With tufted silk interior lid, fitted interior, embossed velvet fold-out writing surface. Including one glass inkwell and one pen. Dimensions: H 6.25" x W 12" x D 9" Condition: Showing signs of age and use including discoloration to fabric. Cracks and losses to veneer on some areas. Some warping to interior and veneer on outside. Some losses to interior elements.

Ceramic chicken sitting in wicker basket. This ceramic piece is two parts. The upper chicken component and the lower wicker basket. Inside is hollow.
