"Cromwell", limited edition bronze sculpture, #342/450, incised "Frogman" and signed "2012, Tim", depicting a standing owl extending his taloned foot, mottled surface with polished ears and talons, 6 ¼" high, 9 ½" x 10". Good condition.

Lot: 3014 - CHARLES GREENOUGH "CHIPPY" CHASE (ME, 1908-1988)

"Common Eider", carved wood sculpture, signed and inscribed on base "Charles Greenough Chase, Common Eider, Somateria Mollissima, No. 344, Sept. 1984", depicting a standing eider searching for mussels amid rocks and seaweed, on carved integral base. Comes with three personal notes from Chase, information about the artist, and an invitation to a 1983 New York exhibition of his bird sculpture where this piece was purchased (including receipt from down payment), 12" high, 25 1/4", 15 1/2". Sun fading and dryness to one side, edge shrinkage cracks.

'Woman', cast bronze, signed on base, mounted on marble plinth, ca. 1900. 22" tall overall. Bronze is fine, cracked marble, verdigris patina.

Lot: 3022 - VERY RARE SIGNED CALDWELL ROMAN REVIVAL GILDED BRONZE AND ROUGE MARBLE FONT

Magnificent Large Centerpiece with turned Rouge du Roi marble bowl supported by mercury gilt figures of kneeling Satyrs, on a trifid matching marble base resting on gilt bronze acanthus leaf peg feet, marked with the 'C' within diamond mark on the underside of one foot. 13 1/4" x 15" diam. Fine condition.

"Fish", a soft sculpture, circa 1970s-80s, signed by thread under tail, made of the brightly colored geometric textiles of the era, some batik that may be unique, stuffed with soft filler, buttons for eyes, 17" long. Good condition.

"Zebra Hillside", oil on Belgian linen, signed lower right and dated 1992; label verso from her Bath, Maine studio, giving title, original price of $3,500. In teak slat frame with black shadowline, OS: 31 1/4" x 19 1/4", SS: 30" x 18". Fine condition.

"Dryland Dusk", a woodland landscape with antelope, coyote and hares, oil on canvas, signed lower right and dated 1980, with the artist's label verso giving the title and an original price of $700. Housed in the original barnwood frame with linen liner, OS: 23 1/2" x 27 1/2", SS: 15 1/2" x 19 1/2", painting is fine, water stains to liner.

Accompanied by Feb 10, 1987 letter of evaluation from Midtown Galleries of NYC for $8,000; other correspondence, show catalogs, newspaper clippings and hardcover copy of the Colby College book. "Boy on Bicycle", oil on masonite, signed lower right, also signed verso and titled, having notation "1st Version, 2nd Version in Dallas with hat". Depicting a young African-American boy astride his bike on a deserted beach, red and white striped lighthouse in distance. "Olsen's", watercolor/gouache on half sheet of cotton rag paper, unsigned, circa 1965, his name and title in pencil on backing board, consigned by a family friend, depicting the Cushing, Maine farmhouse made famous by his father's widely reproduced "Christina's World", a work of 1948. The son's version from another view, housed in a dark grey wood frame. This piece done in the artist's youth, c. age 19, already demonstrating great skill and vision. Signed, matted and glazed, OS: 31 3/4" x 28 3/4", SS: 14" x 21 1/2", fine condition.

Early 20th c. Bronze and Caramel Slag Glass Adjustable Book Rack by Tiffany Studios, New York, Grapevine pattern, #1027, with glass lined square hinged end panels. Bronze has reddish patina, the base stamped "Tiffany Studios, New York, 1027", closed: 6 1/2" x 13 7/8", open: 6" high, base can expand to 23" long. One glass panel has two cracks; some surface wear, particularly to base.

English Inlaid Rosewood Mallet, with inset engraved round silver plaque that reads: "To Sir Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, Bart. M.P., RWPGM, on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of All Saints Church, Old Swan, Jan. 8th 1872", 7 3/4" high, 3 3/4" diam. Shrinkage cracks around plaque. Sir Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 5th Baronet (1825-1872), was a Conservative party politician who sat in the House of Commons (representing Preston) from 1862-1872. All Saints Church (Broadgreen Road, Old Swan, Lancashire) was established in 1875, and operates today with the Church of England Diocese of Liverpool.

Hood's division," in thick woodland, captured 80-90 prisoners, along with a Napoleon cannon and two caissons, colors of the 15th Georgia and 1,000 stands of small arms. Graphic. Entirely in his hand. Framed.

High Quality Sword belonging to Col. Francis E. Heath, Commander of the 19th Maine Volunteer Infantry, with fancy gilt brass fittings, shagreen grip, scabbard engraved with US & patriotic scenes, the hilt engraved with his initials. Retains original gold bullion ribbon and pommel. The 30 1/2" blade has fancy etching as well, and is marked "Iron Cutter: Schuyler, Hartley & Graham, New York". 38 1/2" long overall. Includes original 1977 purchase receipt for $510, a copy of Heath's July 4, 1863 report, a framed reprint photo and a copy of his service record.

Lock functions normally, nipple is not mushroomed and seems unobstructed and rifling is in excellent condition with no apparent corrosion at the breech block. Butt plate is marked at heel 'US' with rack number '2 D 3.' Includes original ramrod. Caliber: .54 Cal. Black Powder, BBL: 40", OAL: 56".

Lot: 3311 - SCARCE US CIVIL WAR MODEL 1840 C&J (CLEMEN & JUNG) HEAVY CAVALRY SWORD WITH SCABBARD

US Civil War Model 1840 Clemen & Jung Heavy Calvary Sword, with ricasso stamped "C & J". Leather grip wrap is complete and the twisted brass wire is intact. The pommel cap and knuckle guard are discolored and soiled with rubs and scuffs. The blade hasn't been sharpened, surface rust with some light pitting, clip point tip, 36" blade, 43" overall. Scabbard has light surface rust overall, scuffs and scratches.

Both lamps are in overall good condition with no missing baubles or other damage, however the electrical cords are both missing plugs and neither lamp has been observed working.

Not observed running. Loss to side fretwork on bonnet.

Completely painted with faux wood graining as a ground for collected trompe l'oeil objects, oil painting, signed by the artist on the side of the lower cabinet. The upper case has a molded split arch crown, the single door over two shelves (also fully grain-painted), having a map of Scandinavia on the interior of the door. The face of the cupboard is painted with books, a flute, sheet music, a brass candlestick, a blue and white vase of flowers, a smoking pipe and match holder, an alarm clock suspended from a ribbon and a small portrait of Lincoln. The sides feature a canteen and a powder horn. The lower case with slant front over three serpentine drawers resting on a molded bracket base. The slant is painted with an imitation of the actual fitted interior of drawers, having a small portrait of Washington, books with a pair of 19th c. eyeglasses, percussion pistol and pewter powder flask; playing card (three of hearts) and fireplace bellows on the right side, horseshoe and letter signed by the artist with the address of "John Hunt, 15 Winthrop Ave, New Haven, Conn". Drawer fronts have a faux lock and key (real keys to door and slant included); and an early Cincinnati, Ohio newspaper. The ledge top of the serpentine front (which supports the slant front when open) has a real overpainted stamp, the writing surface features an piece of obsolete American $5 currency, along with three wood stick matches (two are burnt). 28" to the working surface, 83" tall (6'-11") x 31" x 21". Fine condition.

Impressive Solid Cherry Two-Part Chippendale Highboy, handmade by D.W. Rockwell, cousin of Andrew Wyeth. Made over the course of about five years, while caretaker of the landmark Olson House that appeared in "Christina's World", with his brand at the back of the top center drawer. The upper cabinet has a tall broken pediment with three flame finials, three drawers at top with center fan, conforming side drawers, over four graduated molded edge drawers, all having butterfly brasses, the lower cabinet has a molded receiver, single shallow drawer over three deeper drawers, the center fan carved, above a shaped skirt with acorn drops, resting on tall cabriole legs ending in Queen Anne feet, 83" x 38" x 21" (at knees). Good condition.

Tokugawa Shogunate Era (1853-1867) Two-Part Carved Wood Lacquered and Gilt Siddhartha Buddha seated on an ornate lotus throne with fancy octagonal base, the figure of the buddha in gold, with coiffed hair and crown, hands in shunya mudra (heavenly peace), one finger missing, wearing a kashaya robe, lap dished at crossed legs having wear from venerable offering. 25 1/2" tall, 15" wide at base; repairs.
