Collections highlighted in this event are Mr. Tom Gray Tobacco Collection, Burnett Pepsi Cola Collection, Patterson’s Mill Country Store Collection, Brannon Estate Pilot Mountain, N.C. Bottle Collection, and many other interesting estate discoveries. We look forward to seeing all of our friends in the antique advertising community at this event.

Preview Times:

Public viewing for our Annual Carolina Country Store Event will begin Monday September 13th through Wednesday September 15th, 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM; For Registration, Absentee and Phone Bidding, Seat Reservations, and item inspection will be available during these hours.

Showroom Gallery viewing will begin at 8:00 AM daily during this event.

Parking Lot Trading:

Parking Lot trading will be available for pre-registered bidders only. Sale tax numbers must be on file for all vendors that are participating. Trading will begin at sunrise each day of event September 16th, 17th, 18th, and will be available until 9:45 AM. All RVs, trucks, and oversized trailers are welcome.

Hotel Accommodations:

If you are an out of state visitor, please make reservations at Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites located in Mebane. Other accommodations are available throughout Burlington and Durham/Chapel Hill NC.

Local Interests and Attractions:

Historic Downtown Mebane is widely known for its bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops, antique shops, the Tanger Outlets, and many other family friendly attractions. Please visit our website at www.mebaneauction.com for more information.

Concessions:

Drinks and snacks will be available during the sale. Outside drinks and snacks are welcomed. Huey’s Seafood Restaurant and Oyster Bar, as well as a Valero Gas Station are within walking distances.

Lower left is marked M-132 lower right marked Made In U.S.A. 1930’s, Original, extremely rare and important two piece paper sheet poster, 83” height, 42” width, beautiful Pepsi and Pete illustration artwork titled “ I Make Sure You Get A Big, Big Bottle-12 Full Ounces”, artwork of Pepsi And Pete the policemen walking up ladder with ruler to measure the Pepsi-Cola paper label bottle, has artwork of the 5 Cent button, poster is also marked at lower right bottom Amalgamated Union L.I.P And B.A Label New York Registered Shop No.133 40-75 A Litho. In. U.S.A. 3SH Pepsi-Cola Ladder SH-2-3. Appears to be complete and all original with creases and minor loss in folded interior corners, please see photos, currently displayed under two sheets of plexiglass, overall an outstanding rare survival. 5. Very Rare Mountain Dew Hillbilly Original Tin Litho NOS Sign

1964 Original incredible vintage discovery, 35.5” height, 59.75” width, tin litho self framed marquee sign titled Drink Mountain Dew It’ll Tickle Yore Innards!, with artwork of hillbilly holding jug with shooting cork going through his hat. Sign has never been altered, and has its original 8 mounting holes. Lower right is marked A-M, Inc, Lynchburg, Va, 10-64. Interior of sign has no visible damage whatsoever. Sign has never been cleaned, outer frame is completely all original, and has not been bent, top left corner has tiny paint chip, top edge has very minor edge paint flake, otherwise overall excellent and original. This example reflects light almost like a mirror, and has never been exposed to the elements of weather. We encourage all serious Mountain Dew collectors to view this sign in person. 1910, Original, 39.25” height, 12.5/8” width, tin litho embossed vertical bottle sign titled Drink Pepsi Cola “Here’s Health” Since 1896, artwork of 6.5 Oz peanut shaped paper bottle titled Pepsi Cola Trademark At 45 Degree Angle. Sign has 11 nail holes on edge, has not been cleaned, colors have faded, paint is stabilized with no chipping, and still has pleasing bright colors, please view photos. Lower right is marked “XM 85 Litho in U.S.A Trademark Reg. Marca Registrada. Marquee Deposee.” Overall condition is outstanding with very bright colors, minor scratch in upper left corner. 1950’s, Original, outstanding example 55.5” height, 41.25” diameter with a 41.5” width privileged panel, embossed tin litho red white and blue bottle cap on yellow background, lower privileged panel has gray trim around white panel. Lower right is marked RA-1957 Made in U.S.A. M-234. Sign appears to have never been hung, has original mounting holes around perimeter. After close inspection has minor paint loss at top edge, minor scratches with very small edge chip at bottom center and left side. Please view photos. 1960’s, Original by Mulholland Harper Company Philadelphia, 94” height, 17.5” diameter, extremely important and rare floor lamp, base of lamp is supported by three wrought iron legs, with bottom shade titled Take Home An Extra Carton, center of lamp has a 32” height swirl bottle surrounded with a Plexiglas cylinder with artwork of mountain snow scene. Top of lamp has original shade titled Pepsi Perfect Anytime, with bottle cap logo. When working, bottom panel has interior fan that blows snow in center cylinder around bottle. Lamps and fan are in working condition; Plexiglas cylinder is out of form. Structurally, the lamp is in very good condition, also has its original hard cardboard shipping cylinder container. After extensive research, we cannot find another example, this should be an extremely rare mid century modern classic design. 266. Antique Hwy 56 and 58 Centerville N.C. Route 561 Wooden Sign

1920’s, Original, 26” height, 34.25” width, very rare and important original handpainted North Carolina wooden roadside sign titled Detour To Centerville VIA Routes 56 And 58 Route 561 Road Under Construction. Sign is completely all original and unaltered. After extensive research, listed below is from Wikipedia. History NC 561 was established in 1925 as a new primary route between NC 56 in Louisburg, and NC 58 in Centerville. Around 1928, NC 561 was extended east as new routing to US 17-1/NC 40 near Halifax. In 1932, another extension east on new routing to US 258/NC 12 near Spring Hill. Between 1959–1963, NC 561 was extended north along US 258 to Rich Square and then east along NC 305 until past Mintons Store where it split on new primary routing to Ahoskie. After a short concurrency with both US 13 and NC 45, it traveled east on new primary routing to end at NC 45, near Harrellsville. By 1963, NC 561 discontinued going to Main Street in Louisburg and was truncated at the current western terminus at US 401/NC 39. Overall condition is excellent and original, please view photos.
