Join us September 4th online for our Influential Modern Design Auction. Our catalog will sell hundreds of treasures from the mid-20th century including furniture, decor, art and lighting. All pieces have been curated over the past several months to bring you a special catalog to sell pieces from many important designers, originating from significant collections all across the eastern US. Bidding will open August 14th and all bidding will conclude Wednesday, September 4th at 8:30pm. Sterling, VA pickup is available Friday, Sept. 6th from 10am-4pm and Saturday Sept. 7th from 9am-noon. World wide shipping is available- please contact us with your zip code before bidding for a quote.

4 - Yes, we ship! Small or large, near or far, we can help get your items to you. Please message us at if you need assistance estimating shipping. The three things that will dictate the shipping price are location, weight and total box dimension. If your unsure what any of these factors would be, or otherwise have trouble getting a quote, please contact us. Below are the shipping terms: Items left after the pickup window will be subject to a minimum $25 fee, beginning Monday following the auction. Normal storage fees are $5 per item per day. As advertised, our local pickup hours for this auction are: -Friday, July 26th, from 10am-3pm -Saturday, July 27th from 9am-12pm. From our warehouse at 45681 Oakbrook Ct. Suite 110, Sterling VA 20166 For your own protection, the billing address for the credit card you registered with MUST match the shipping address. This applies to any item needing shipping. Your item(s) will NOT be shipped if the credit card “Billing Address” does not match the "Ship To" address. We do not ship to P.O. boxes. USPS shipping is available on most small items not including artwork and furniture. A $4.00 PER LOT NUMBER handling fee will be charged to cover packing time involved. Total Shipping costs are charged after the bidding has ended, once the buyer has (in writing) informed the auctioneer of their intent to have their items shipped to We reserve the right to refuse to ship outside the U.S. A $15 HANDLING FEE will be applied to each art and/or furniture lot number being shipped to cover storage and packing time. We will hold items for freight shipping at no extra storage cost as long as they are picked up within 14 days of the end of the auction. Most of our shipping materials are recycled and available on a first come, first serve basis only. If we do not have the appropriate box or materials to pack your item(s), we will purchase them at the buyer's expense. By bidding on an item requiring shipping, you are agreeing to pay any related charge as a result, including handling. We do NOT refund items because the actual shipping was higher than expected. It is important to request a shipping quote before the auction ends to avoid any misunderstanding around shipping logistics and cost. Handling time can vary from 1 to 7 days, depending on the size, weight or shape of an item. Items needing custom boxes take longer than items fitting in standard small boxes. Any damage claims must be made between you, the buyer, and the shipping carrier. We rarely have a broken item during shipping, but we purchase insurance for this potential outcome. Shipping insurance is mandatory.

5 - Auction Terms- PLEASE READ Here are the auction terms: by bidding at our auction you agree to our terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us before bidding. * For items which remain un-claimed during the pickup window: Standard storage fees are $5 per lot, per day, beginning the Monday following the pickup window. * The Auction House reserves the right to charge a deposit during the close of the auction if winning bids for any new registered bidder reach above $1000 (one thousand dollars). The Auction House will NEVER charge any buyer for more than their invoice which may include buyers premium, sales tax, shipping fees and storage fees. * For auctions selling on multiple web platforms, the Auctioneer has sole discretion to sell any item to the highest bidder, regardless of the website they bid on. Items may be extended past their scheduled ending time so that all bids for any particular item may be accepted. * All invoices must be paid in full directly after the close of the auction. We will charge the registered credit card on file at the end of the auction, once all the bids are in. This is an automated process that requires nothing of the buyer other than to ensure they registered with the correct credit card. * Photographs of auction items are the exclusive property of Fair Auction Company, LLC. Use of photos from our website is strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized use of images could result in the declining of all future bids and or banning from our auctions. * All items sold AS IS, WHERE IS with all faults. We do our best to describe the items as we see them, but are not experts in the working, style or normative condition of every single item we sell. * As Is, Where Is means you agree that once the bidding has ended, your winning bid on each item is sold to you as the buyer, and we, Fair Auction Company, LLC are relieved of any liability thereafter. Bidders should inspect in person, and perform further research into items of interest before bidding. * Bidder inspection is highly encouraged and we allow extremely flexible hours for inspection. In the event a bidder is unable to meet the scheduled times for inspection, they may schedule an after-hours meeting. The auctioneer reserves the right to refuse an unreasonable meeting request outside of scheduled hours. * By placing a bid, the bidder signifies that they have examined all items to their satisfaction, or that they have chosen not to personally examine them. Should they choose not to personally examine them in person, we are not liable for the buyer falsely assuming facts or details of any item. * Virginia state sales tax is 6% and shall be charged at the end of the auction to include all your purchases. We must be notified of your tax exemption before the end of the auction to ensure we process the transaction without tax. * Buyer's premium for this auction shall be 15%, and will be added to the hammer price for each item. No cash or check will be accepted as a form of payment for this auction. * Buyers have until the end of the pickup window to pick up their item(s) or confirm shipping arrangements with the auctioneer in writing. Items left more than 7 days past this pickup date without communication are considered abandoned, when they will be resold or donated. * Have plans at the time of the auction end? Use the Max Bid feature, and let the software do the work. It will bid competitively for you up to your maximum bid. If you get outbid, you'll get an email with a prompt to increase your bid. * Light bulbs used in photographs are for demonstration purposes only. They will not be included with the sale of a lot unless they are specifically tied to its particular lighting fixture. * Packing materials at pickup time are on a first come, first serve basis only. We offer them as a "when available" option to the buyer, not under any required pretense. To be certain your items will make it home safely, bring your own packing materials. *Shipping requests must be requested within 24 hours of recieving an invoice. * For your own protection, the billing address for the credit card you registered with must match the shipping address. 9 - Curtis Jere Metal and Wood Bicycle Wall Sculpture Signed and dated, but signature is difficult to read. 29.5 inches tall, 33 wide.

10 - Teak Trash Can with Rotating Lid 11 inches tall and a diameter of 8. Showing some glue on the underside of the lid.

20 - Tall Studio Pottery Lamp Green striped glaze over abstract design and a metal base. Has a crack running down one side. 43 inches tall to top of finial.

48 - 2 Danish Teak Cutting/Serving Boards Includes a Digsmed board and a teak try by Erik S. Angelo, made by ESA Mobler Denmark.

49 - Set of 3 Small Scandinavian Style Wood Figurines One labeled "made in Taiwan," another is labeled but the label is faded and illegible.

50 - Pair of Painted Wood Owl Art Pieces Both are signed by their creators; one is signed "Chris De Ford" and the other is signed "Weir". Both from the 1970s.

70 - Plaid Upholstered Buch Style Chair No maker's mark. Great condition. Fabric on the back of the back rest is stapled on and may need further securing. The wood is Afromosia, also known as African Teak. 18" wide 19" deep 31.5" tall

72 - Pair of Orange Upholstered Armchairs Finish/ wood is worn in several places. Upholstery is in great condition. No maker's mark- these chairs are built solid with fantastic joinery. 25" wide 23" deep 31" tall

73 - Vintage, Original Overman Lounge Chair Comfortable lounge chair that reclines and swivels. Made from warm brown faux leather and has a rosewood finish to the base. Faux leather shows some signs of wear in seat area but is consistent and even: could be left as-is. Measures 37 inches tall, 31 wide and 30 deep with a seat height of 17.

74 - Beige Herman Miller Shell Chair Labeled at the bottom. Legs show some corrosion. 18" wide 22" deep 31" tall

76 - Pair of Orange Herman Miller Shell Chairs Label is worn off on one but it is otherwise identical to the other. Legs show signs of corrosion and are missing some feet. 18" wide 22" deep 31" tall

76a - Single Orange Herman Miller Shell Chair Labeled on the bottom. Very good condition, has some wear on the legs. 18" wide 22" deep 31" tall

77 - Sam Avedon White Shell Chair Not labeled but patent number indicates a Sam Avedon design. Legs show some corrosion. 18" wide 20" deep 31" tall

78 - Lane Walnut Tall Dresser In adequate condition. Having some areas of veneer loss and signs of wear. The hinges to the left top door will need to be repaired. Unique metal pulls. 51 inches tall, 42 wide and 18 deep. Matches low Dresser and mirror in Lots 79 and 80.

79 - Long Low Vintage Lane Walnut Dresser In good condition. Showing some signs of wear to the finish, particularly to the top surface. Unique metal pulls. 30 inches tall, 56.25 wide and 18 deep. Having metal brackets for matching mirror in Lot 80 to be attached. Also matches tall dresser in Lot 79.

80 - Lane Walnut Mirror In good condition. Could be hung on a wall or attached to a Dresser. Matches Dresser in Lot 79. No attachment rods included. 36.5 inches tall, 26.5 wide.

81 - Eero Saarinen for Knoll Attrb. Tulip Dining Table Very good condition. Believed to be Eero Saarinen for Knoll, but cannot verify as no markings can be found. Having white metal base and black laminate top. Overall good condition with minor paint chipping to the white base. 29 inches tall with a table top diameter of 47.75.

82 - Set of 4 Black Leather & Chrome Cantilever Chairs 3 in very good condition and 1 in good condition. All have armrests. Each is 31 inches tall, 23.5 wide with a seat height of 18.

83 - Bassett Tall Walnut Dresser with Brass Details In very good condition. Having one spot of missing veneer on the back edge. Top is Formica with matching wood grain. 43.5 inches tall, 32 wide and 17.75 deep.

84 - Pair of Burled Wood Front End Tables Each in very good condition. Both having double front doors that open to an interior shelf that pulls out and peg backing for wire convenience. Each is 21.5 inches tall, 18 wide and 17 deep.

85 - Harmony House Tall Walnut Dresser In good condition. Showing some wear to the top surface and there is a chip to the lower edge of one drawer and the top corner. Drawers two of the lower drawers are a little tight. 42 inches tall, 41.24 wide and 19 deep.

86 - Harmony House Walnut Night Stand Overall good condition. Shows some surface wear and has some spots of veneer damage. 22 inches tall, 24 wide and 14 deep.

87 - Teak Gentlemen’s Chest with Sculpted Pulls Good condition. Overall in great shape, but has a dark water stain on the back edge of the top surface. Left side door swings open to reveal adjustable shelving. Unmarked, likely Danish in origin. Right side holds 5 pull out drawers. 40.5 inches tall, 40 wide and 18 deep.

88 - 3 Teak Uldum Mobelfabrik Danish Chairs 2 in very good condition. 1 in good condition with a could seat screws loose. Teal upholstery (not original) may need to be tightened up around some of the edges. A few wooden screw caps missing from all 3. Each chair is 30.5 inches tall, 18.25 wide and has a seat height of 18. One chair is marked on the underside.

89 - Cherry Dixie Triple Dresser Good condition. Labeled inside of a drawer. Some minor damage to the veneer around the drawers. Top has been refinished and has a small patch. 60" wide 20" deep 32" tall

90 - Paul McCobb Style Maple Desk Overall good vintage condition. Having tall angled legs to the left and 3 pull out drawers on the lower right. 30.5 inches tall, 40 wide and 20 deep.

91 - Brazilian Rosewood Eames- Herman Miller 670 & 671 Stunning, original Charles and Ray Eames designed lounge chair model 670 and ottoman model 671. Beautifully kept condition, with slightly worn leather and exactly as the designer intended, ‘like a worn baseball glove.’ Original manufacturers markings indicate a build year of 1984. No structural issues. Slight scratch to the bottom of the chair-seat shell as photographed. The chair measures 32 inches tall, 33 wide from armrest to armrest, and has a seat height of 16. The ottoman is 16 inches tall, 26 wide and 22 deep.

92 - Ltd Ed Pencil Signed Serigraph by Allen Bjorkman Labeled "Nearly capture by the interaction between the void and the self" and signed by the artist. Measures 16" by 20.5"

93 - Pair Bjorn Wiinblad Magic Flute Prints Prints measure 21" by 21." One is signed with the artist's name.

115 - Collection of Saunders "Silver Streak" Pyrex Irons This is the first time a collection of five ultra-rare Silver Streak irons have been offered available at auction. - Designed as a direct result of the metal shortage during WWII, The Saunders, Corning Glass (Pyrex) collaboration for model 1038, "Silver Streak" is nothing short of pure beauty in ergonomic industrial design. Designed in 1942-43 and produced for one year, 1946. The timeless design encapsulates a perfect blend of utility and aesthetics. - On each iron are impressed "Silver Streak" on the metal heel rest; and on the verso: "Saunders Since 1858 - Model 1038 - 1000 Watts - 110-120 Volts A.C. Only" - Materials: Pyrex molded glass, chrome platted steel, plastic, enameled aluminum with rubber bound, cloth wrapped wire ending in a plastic wall plug. - Payment via $500 deposit immediately after the sale with registered credit card. 345 - Pair of 1970's Chrome Architectural Tables Could be used as two separate coffee tables, or as large end tables. Having a "star" effect with central (high quality) welded connections radiating out to buttress style legs, terminating with rubber or plastic caps. Near mint condition- chrome is perfect. One table has a superficial scratch approx. 6" long on top. The scratch is hard to notice, even in person. Unmarked but is possibly be designed by Milo Baughman. 32 in x 32 in on top 15. 5 in H

346 - Arne Hovman Olsen Teak Tambour Corner Cabinet Beautiful teak corner cabinet designed by Arne Hovmand Olsen and produced by Skovmand & Andersen, ca. 1960's. Featuring adjustable interior shelving, two drawers and additional pull out task surface. Elegant curved front allows the tambour doors to glide gently into place. Beautiful matched Teak grain from door to door. Overall, very good condition. Has had finish repairs, and it is unlikely the legs are original. Measures 75.24" tall, 24" deep and 39" at the widest point.

349 - Original George Nelson for Herman Miller Tables One lamp table in Excellent original condition, and one matching side table without lamp. Both tables have drawers and labels inside them. Side table is in good condition, with more wear than the lamp table. Both are original, unrestored examples. Lamp table has one plastic lamp holder which has been glued and it still functional. Lamp table measures 46.5" tall overall, 26.25" tall to the top of the planter, 30" deep and 19" wide. 22.25" tall as the main, task surface. Side table measures 30." deep, 19" wide and 22.25" tall.
