R.H. Putnam Auctions is pleased to be selected to sell the contents of the estate of Russell and Phyllis of East Washington NH.  The entire contents of the expansive estate will be sold in a Country Auction without reserve. Held on-site under the tents.

Every day, we dig more and find so much more than we expected. This estate has been in the same family since 1923. The barn layers are being unfolded. History in every category ~ do not not miss this for true New England history offered undisturbed and fresh to the public.

Furnishings: Country Claw Foot Kitchen Table; Cherry Drop Leaf Dining Table; Oval Drop Leafe Table; Very Early Single Board Drop Leaf Table; Pennsylvania House Hutch; Oak two drawer over two door commode; Set 8 Cherry chairs with upholstered seats; Full Size Couch; ¾ size couch; Wing-Back chairs; Oval Mid-Century Modern Table; Gate-Leg Table; West Indies Mahogany Desk; Drexel Bedroom Suite; Quilt Racks; Wicker Rocker; White Wicker Furniture; Bird’s-Eye Maple Table; Commodes; Tables and Misc. Furniture too much to inventory completely.

Accessories: Clocks: Standard Time Wall Clock; Early Wall Clock; Exposed Clock; Seth Thomas Steeple Clock; Other Clocks from Around the home; Green Metal Shade Lamps; Blown Glass Lamp; Kerosene Lamps in Cast Iron Wall Brackets, one with Mercury Glass Reflector, and numerous other accessories to be sold.

Carpets/Rugs: There are so many fine textiles in this home. The Clarks traveled extensively throughout the world and collected rugs and linens.  Each room had a rug or rugs and all are in exceptional condition.  Some are small “prayer” size rugs and others are 5’ x 7’ size.  There are also room-size oriental rugs and one Native American pattern rugs, both found in the barn. All-in-All there are many to choose from and you will be pleased with the quality.

Glass, China and Art Glass:  Offering Orrefors Vases by Edward Hald, Flow Blue Pieces; English China Pieces; a complete set of grandmother’s china; Flint Glass Goblets; Porcelain Pieces; Blue Willow; Transferware in brown and a few in teal; Many, many pieces of pottery from Romania, Poland; Croatia and other countries that has traveled to on their trips with their daughter.  Mrs. Clark and her daughter also were clay artists and some of the pottery was their own work and will be offered.

Framed Art: Here we find a number of works by listed artist Norman Merritt (watercolors), local artist McCormick, regional to NY artists, other famous and not so famous artists work.  Phyllis had many of her pieces framed and those too will be offered.  There has been so much framed art found, I am sure we are overlooking or mentioning something here.

Farming: The John Deere riding mower is gone, but the Snow Blower; Mowing Deck; Trailer, Shade Umbrella and Bracket as well as a bunch of supporting new in the box pieces are here. I need to find out the model they all fit, but they are really in great condition! We also have a 3 POINT Hitch Sickle Bar John Deere ENOAGRICOLA ROSSI BF-180 attachment, in great condition. We have a cast iron tractor seat, old hand tools and new hand tools, snow fencing, work bench tools, work bench hardware, a mahogany tool box that must be close to 100 years old! -  We are cleaning out the garages and the barn and the shed.  All being laid out on the lawn for this amazing sale!

What Else?: Harrisville Design (NH) Weaving Loom that looks brand new; 2 old portable typewriters; Travel Steam Trunk that is Awesome in A+ condition; Flexible Fliers; 1880’s Piano Belleau & Curtis, Concord NH (Really!); 4 matching Porch Rockers; So Many Concrete/Pottery/Whimsical Garden Buddies to choose from you will be hard pressed to pick a favorite ~ buy more than one!; Bird Feeders/Homes, many new never used;  Salt Cellars; Matchbox Cars in the Plastic Cases; Jewelry of every theme; Board Games from Every Century going back to 1920; Benches; Fire Proof Trash Cans; AM/FM Turntable w/Record Player; 1950 Kitchen Cabinets w/original hardware; barbeque cooking set; metal garden table w/4 chairs; 4 metal chairs for garden and side table- like new – Weber dome – Garden Work Bench and Chimes – Wicker Chaise and Chairs with green cushions – Gardening Hats, gloves jackets and gosh you have everything you need from every direction. 

Barn:  We are still unpacking. Christmas; Sewing Machines; Wooden Barrels; Norge Steam Mangles (Likely I’m wrong spelling this one!); Dining Table; PoGo Stick; Bicycles;  1880’s – 1950’s Records;… every day we go upstairs and begin another dig. We will be finding right up until auction day!

Special Interest: Dried Flower and Herb Collection of Phyllis Clark: Phyllis collection nearly 10,000 samples of dried flowers and has them pressed/dried here at MAPLECREST.  Many of these are documented with a color slide presentation that is included in this lot. The collection will be sold in its entirety Sunday at Noon.
