Auctioneers Note:  WOW July has turned out to be a fantastic auction!! Estates of Master wood carver Robert Wedum of Ft Collins, the last of the antique cars from Dan Chapasko’s estate, as well as several other exciting estates! Truly something for everybody!!  Plan to attend, and bring a friend!


Robert Wedum Estate: Master wood carver with a deep appreciation of carvings in all mediums. Asian and Eastern Indian art in bronze, wood, repousse, stone, metalwork, porcelain, jade and soapstone etc. In addition to his own master wood carvings this estate includes an exceptional collection of wonderful deities, symbolic Eastern Indian & Asian figures and symbols. Hindu and Buddhist gods small and substantial in size with amazing detail. As Robert traveled the world he acquired many amazing pieces of both a spiritual and religious significance and took the care and expense to ship them from around the world to his home in Redstone Canyon. This is a very large estate including hundreds of items which we have on display for preview on Saturday July 14th from 10-5. Included but not limited to: antique porcelain bowls, chargers, planters, floor vases and various ceramics, decorative sculptures of Vishnu, Shiva (in many symbolic poses), Bodhisattva, Devine Couple, Shiva Dancing in Dravidian Bronze, Buddhist gods, carvings and symbols, rugs, tapestries, figurines, crystals, stone carvings, cast iron figures, framed art, prayer tablets, repousse metalwork, bas-relief stone carvings, significant jade carvings, impressive wood carvings both collected and created by Robert himself.  One of the more unique items Robert collected are large rocks called Suiseki or Scholar Stones found along the Yangtze River in China. Suiseki or Scholar stones have been admired by many cultures throughout history and are more than art, they also represent a process, a feeling, a relationship between the object and the viewer and encourage contemplation. These impressive natural wonders are set in custom wood carved stands by Robert and are breathtaking and encourage thoughtful contemplation. From small 12” stones to 5’ statement pieces weighing hundreds of pounds these unique natural wonders are simply amazing. We also have the tools of his lifelong passion and trade including some incredibly rare Oliver woodworking machines, from the 1930’s , Wood carving tools, lathe tools, drill bits, assorted woodworking items, planes, vices, clamps, hammers, sanders, table saw, grinders, joiners, chop saw, chain saw more.
