WE ARE BACK AND HONORED TO DO THIS AUCTION. It is a 2 day on-site auction to settle an estate. The family has owned the house since the 1950's and Herb thinks it looks like a NJ "Godfather" lived here. (Of course, Herb knew the real one, Ruggiero (Richie the Boot) Boiardo when he was growing up.) This house in Morris Plains is beautiful and these people have collected for many years. We are going through the items and there is so much here that we have to put things together in tray lots or WE WON'T FINISH IN 2 DAYS! You never know what you might find here. EVERYTHING YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES MUST GO. Partial list includes: many clocks, pocket watches, early Employees Time Clock from the International Time Recording Co.of New York, local & historical ephemera, postcard collection, stereo-optic cards, books, Olympic Park pony cart, juke box, Railroad lanterns, bronzes, baby coffin, Monmouth Park jockey scale, lots of cement lawn ornaments including deer & religious, yard jockeys & elves, REALLY NICE outdoor furniture including iron set, Victorian & other antique furniture, mid-century, carved bar w/copper top & lion heads, many benches, barber chair, mirrors, lamps, rugs, rockers, stools, lingerie dresser, secretary with bookcase top, mid century Frigidaire (working), artwork, many pictures, at least 3 mounted sailfish, jewelry, Victorian jewelry boxes, purses, pocketbooks, trunks filled with Victorian and other clothing, furs, hats, derbies & others in boxes, umbrellas, linens, table cloths, quilts, curtains, Lionel trains, stroller from Manasquan Suffragette parade, so many dolls, games, toy trucks, models, banks, jardinieres, pitcher & bowl sets, Royal Doulton, Wedgewood, cut glass, figurines, statues, dog collections, silver, brass, coins, records, child's drum set, at least 2 acoustic guitars, piano, organ, many tools, antlers, deer heads, golf items, wooden clubs, trophies, phones, church kneeler, car parts, license plates, a 1912 Renault Victoria Limo with an appraisal & provenance. Original owner was the Metropolitan Opera singer, Madame Alda. VALUATION FROM ADVANCED AUTO APPRAISERS: "This vehicle has been meticulously restored in every detail. It is a rare car with very few still in existence. Another one of these vehicles can be seen in the movie the Titanic. Because of the rarity of this auto, it is a very difficult process to estimate the value of this vehicle. Using compatibles, of other Limos of that era. Adding a 60% increase for rarity, this vehicle is valued at approximately $110,000."
Reserve to announced. We will be doing the car at noon on Sunday.
We will be adding more photos as we keep unpacking over the next month so please keep checking back. We will also have an idea of certain things that go on each day.
