Auctioneers is proud to announce our June Summer auction featuring over 400 lots of antiques, Asian art, and fine and decorative arts from estates across New England on Saturday, June 26th at 10:00am. The auction will open with a 1962 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II steel standard saloon, just one of only 2,417 built from 1959 to 1962 followed by a new old stock Antique & Classic Car Automotive Inc. 1937 Jaguar SS 100 Roadster kit car. The first portion of the catalog will offer over 70 lots of American and European 19th and 20th century art highlight by an oil on board fauvist landscape painting of Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado by Birger Sandzen (1871-1954). Other fine art highlights include an oil on panel Hudson River landscape painting by Worthington Whittredge (1820-1910) and an oil on board Barbizon landscape by Rhode Island artist George William Whitaker (1841-1916). Offered within the fine art section will be the prints and multiples collection of Ms. Lucille Comes, West Warwick, Rhode Island. Ms. Comes procured all her collection throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s from Multiple Impressions, New York highlighted by a complete Joan Miro (1893-1983) El Inocente engraving portfolio, 165 of 170. Ms. Comes’ other highlights include five works works by Andre Masson including the Un Saison en Enfers portfolio, nine works, 22 of 47, and Pablo Picasso Suite 347, plate 106, 47 of 50.


            The remainder of the catalog will offer an eclectic mix of 346 lots of 19th and 20th century decorative arts, furniture, ancient antiquities, jewelry, and Asian art. The section is highlighted by a Tiffany Studios 20” Poppy table lamp on a twisted vine bronze base from a fine Providence, Rhode Island home. Offered from the same estate is a substantial Tiffany Studios Favrile glass Bleeding Heart paperweight vase and matching pair of Tiffany Studios curved lamp shades which originally hung on the lamp. Other decorative arts highlights include a fine example of an E. Howard model 70 oak case regulator clock and Continental repousse bronze basket with ten inset miniature watercolor paintings. Furniture highlights include a selection of Mid Century Modern furnishings including an Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates travertine side table sofa, Torino Lamp Co. chrome robot lamp, and a selection of Harry Bertoia, Charles Pollock, and Isamu Noguchi for Knoll furniture. Other furniture highlights include a selection of period American furnishings including a C.1780 Rhode Island mahogany drop leaf table and an 18th century New England Queen Anne mahogany veneer and geometric inlay lowboy. Jewelry highlights include two Men’s Rolex wristwatches and a fine Art Deco aquamarine filigree work jewelry suite with bracelet and earrings. Asian art highlights include two monumental Chinese scroll paintings, one by Zhimian Zou (1550-1610), the other Gai Qi (1773-1828). Other Asian art highlights include a pair of Chinese Guanxgu period yellow ground dragon and phoenix bowls and an 18th century French mounted spinach jade avian lamp.
