is pleased to present our finest sale of American and European art, antiques, and exquisite antique jewelry to date. The auction is to be held in our gallery on June 2nd, 2018 at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time at 44675 Cape Court #171 Ashburn, VA 20147.

This sale features items from the estate of musician, singer, bandleader, and actor Rudy Vallee and his wife Eleanor Vallee. The items come directly from the home Eleanor shared with her second husband and fellow actor Byron Clark. The Vallee estate includes selections of Eleanor’s personal jewelry with some fine art deco gold and diamond pieces, rings, necklaces and bracelets. Also included are quality Navajo and other Native American jewelry, some of which was Rudy’s, costume pieces, and more. Other fine items from the Vallee estate include four of Rudy’s personal saxophones, a James Montgomery Flagg drawing of Rudy, several paintings, sculptures, and accessories. Furnishings are spotlighted by a fine Tobey Furniture Clock circa 1890 with works by Joseph Jennens and a 9-tube chime. Also featured is a late 18th - early 19th century Renaissance revival inlaid hall seat, Japanese Meiji era tables and display case, and many other fine pieces.

Important pieces from other estates include:

Jewelry: A stunning custom French Art Deco diamond, sapphire and platinum bracelet with 19.3 ctw diamonds and 40 ctw natural sapphires. A 14K gold ring with 6 ctw diamonds. Gold and diamond watches, including Baume & Mercier, etc. Gold rings with diamonds, pearls, opals, and other precious and semi-precious stones will also be featured along with other jewelry pieces; too much to list.

Art: John Singer Sargent (American, 1856-1925) portrait of Georges Clemenceau, Ruins of Rome by Giovanni Paolo Panini (Italian, 1691-1765), a sketchbook owned and used by Katherine Hepburn, drawing by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French, 1864-1901), and other original works of art by Max Luce, Donald Grant, Henry P. Smith, and Julian Barrow among other notable artists.

Historical: An important piece of American Mafia history, one of the two solid oak Poker tables with chairs used by the Mafia leaders at the infamous 1957 meeting in Apalachin, NY purchased directly from the home of “Joe the Barber” Barbara with provenance. We will also be offering a very rare, all original 48mm Japanese WWII “Kamikaze” watch by Seikosha, 16th - 19th century maps, and autographs with some presidential examples.

Important glass and porcelain: Museum quality cut and etched 19th century Uranium glass Pokal. Also featuring stem and other glassware from Moser, Tiffany, and Lalique as well as an unused 12 place setting of Royal Copenhagen’s famous Floridanica dinnerware with serving pieces. Figures from Meissen, Royal Doulton, and other makers will be offered.
