5 - 1865 United States Coast Survey Book w/ [36] Maps THIS IS AN IMPORTANT, VERY RARE AND HISTORIC U.S. GOVERNMENT COAST SURVEY MAP BOOK CREATED BY THE UNION DURING THE CIVIL WAR. "Report Of The Superintendent Of The United States Coast Survey, Showing The Progress Of The Survey During The Year 1865" / "Washington, Government Printing Office. 1867." [39th Congress, 1st Session. / HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES / EX. DOC. NO.75] This is an EXTREMELY RARE GOVERNMENT ISSUED, authentic/original 1867 edition United States Coast survey book with [36] attached and foldout maps. A 1863 edition just sold for $500 in Janurary, 2017, in very comparible condition and with only 30 maps compared to [36] in this 1865 edition. These maps (framed) alone (during 1860-1865) have sold for $100-$900 each. WE HAVE NOT FOUND ANOTHER 1865 EXAMPLE, THIS MAY BE A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!!! Large hardback book. In 1807, President Thomas Jefferson established the Survey of the Coast to produce the nautical charts necessary for maritime safety, defense, and the establishment of national boundaries. Within years, the United States Coast Survey was the government's leading scientific agency, charting coastlines and determining land elevations for the nation. In 1861, the agency adjusted quickly to meet the needs of a country at war. In that year, U.S. Coast Survey supervisor Alexander Dallas Bache published Notes on the Coast of the United States , secret documents used by the Union Blockade Board. This series of Notes, covering the Delaware Bay to the Mississippi Sound on the Gulf Coast, contributed to the efficacy of the Union blockading squadrons. Coast Survey superintendents prepared a report each year, showing the progress of the survey. While the full reports were over 200 pages, Bache's summary statements for 1861 , 1862 , 1863 , 1864, and 1865 gave a sense of Coast Survey's involvement in the war effort. Bache suffered a debilitating illness in 1865, this is the last year of the Great Civil War. These books were made for the aU.S. Government and not for resale, hence the rareity of this book. CONDITION: This copy is in very good condition with original cover, cover binding has some loss, but the page binding is nice and tight and all 36 foldout maps are intact besides one or two, however, the only maps actually unfolded were for photos. So, there may be more than two loose maps, more than likely there are only one to two. Each map is about 36'' square to 56" square. THIS IS AN INCREDIBLE PIECE OF HISTORICAL PROVENANCE OF THE CIVIL WAR! THESE ARE EXTREMELY ACCURATE MAPS, WHICH ARE VERY NECESSARY FOR CIVIL WAR EXPERTS AND ENTHUSIASTS AS THEY ARE THE ONLY KNOWN EVIDENCE OF DOCUMENTED MAPS, PROVING ACCURACY FOR AND OF THE STORIES OF THE WAR. Th

6 - 1878-1885 Ship Port Custom House Record Documents VERY RARE (One of a Kind) original hand written recorded documents from the Port's Custom House in Philadelphia, PA. Hundreds of pages that Include hand written documentation, indentures, appraisers, confiscated items, famous people that came over by ship, and other recorded indentures. This may be more than one book as it is documented from 1878-1885, and could be earlier or later. There is a Reserve on this rare collection. We only photoed a very very small fraction of pages, randomly. Because the issues with the covers and binding, we were very careful and did not want to cause any damages to the pages themselves. That said, the actual documents are in very good, well preserved condition for the most part. There was a document that talked about a Princess coming into the port, however, we were limited on time and did not get to examin further. If this is not sold, we will put some time into researching the documents further.

67 - 1950's Art Deco TURNER DYNAMIC S33D Microphone This is a rare 1950's Art Deco style Turner Dynamic microphone, one of the most famous and collectible Turner mics of all time. The Turner S33D with heavy deco influence and outrageous style that set it apart from every other microphone ever designed. The rarer 2nd generatiom 1950's 33 series mic with on / off switch. This mic comes with it's original 16 foot cable as well as a 6 ft tall telescopic stand. The 33 series was first introduced in the 1940's and had a run of about 20 + years. The first generation 33 mics had a rounded lower pistol grip while the 2nd generation had the flat rectangular lower front pistol grip. Otherwise the microphone looked the same. The 33 series also came with either a crystal or dynamic element. The crystal elements were inferior and wore out over time while the dynamic elements sounded much better and tended to last over the decades. This is the dynamic version. This S33D has been tested and works very well with that typical High Z sound so if you are looking for something that's similar to what you heard on the old records of the day or "rockabilly" sound...this is it. It's a general purpose mic so you can use it for just about anything. As you can see the satin chrome finish is in extremely nice condition. Virtually zero scuffs, pitting or scratches and no dents. The satin chrome finish has a beautiful luster even still and it will make for a nice display piece as well. The black cloth screen is perfect and the joint mechanism is flawless offering plenty of resistance to get the right angle needed and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. The switch slides smooth and does work without issue . The S33D was the most expensive model at the time because of the switch which most mics didn't even come with. It wasn't until the 1950's that on / off switches became more common and standard for mics. The Shure popular 55S microphone didn't even have a switch until the 1960's! The original 16 foot cable is included. Soft, some what pliable, but the outer casing has some dry rot and has some loss, possibly from being wrapped too tight. These came with 6 inch stands typically, however, this mic is set up with a stage stand that is 6 ft tall and telescopic and can lock in at different positions.
