             Kensington Estate Auctions will present an on-line live auction on Monday, 23 April at 7:00pm EST.  Our auction will offer unique works by American, Asian and European artists, as well as photographs, jewelry, books, autographs, tools, sculptures, science-fiction illustrations, urban/graffiti art and objects d’art.

            A special selection of Maurice Sendak signed illustrated works including two drawings of "Rosie" from the collection of and authenticated by the prominent authority: Justin H.Schiller, will be offered. 

            Highlighting the art category are Italian watercolors by Leopoldo Mariotti, American Landscape by Cecil Chichester, stage-set designs by Beni Montresor, English Countryside painting by James Aumonire, illustration by Dorrit Dekk, oil painting by Ben Neill and other notable artists. 

            Highlights will include a semi-antique Persian Isfahan silk hunting rug (7’), 19th century terracotta sculpture by J. Bonnar, Webley & Scott World War I flare gun, signed Arts & Craft copper bookends, pair of carved architectural griffins, Grand Tour terra-cotta plaques by Ipsen, 19th century limestone printing block among many more.

            The N.Y. graffiti artist LA II, is featured in the Modern/Graffiti/Urban section by a metallic tagged painting and train set. Other outstanding artists and works are:  Francois Berthoud’s Visionaire No. 17, Outsider paintings by Keith Morris, abstract paintings by Stefanachi as well as more than 50 signed tattoo works.

            Our tribal/ethnographic grouping will include an Australian Aboriginal dot painting, Native art and a collection of Lega Tribe carvings from The Congo.

            A Heruka Mandala Thangka painting will be a focus of the Asian category along with a 19th century Japanese woodblock album, several hand-hammered silver and coral objects of jewelry, original Chinese propaganda posters, Persian manuscript paintings & carvings.

            Several very special items to be offered will be the first-day-of-issue cover of the 400th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare, signed by noteworthy authors such as Arthur Miller, Herman Wouk, Saul Bellow (included is full sheet of commemorative Shakespeare stamps) and other authors, thirty two  18th-19th century original Etruscan vase designs executed in pencil.

             In addition we will offer early 1900s Chinese erotic Pillow Books and an erotic collection of Hans Christian Andersen lithographs by Jean-Pierre Stholl "Deux Contes de Hans Christian Andersen".           

            Our book and photography collection will include but not limited to first edition: Matisse “Jazz”, inscribed Fannie Hurst book, Herb Ritts “Free Tibet”, 19th century photographs (firefighters, soldiers, documents, etc.) including a significant World War 2 military collection.
