NOTE: Tony moved to Macomb in 1970 and was well known for the joke of the day for Macomb radio. He was a car salesman and did commercial radio spots for Woodrum Inc. in Macomb. He was a DJ, as well as general manager for several radio stations. Some of Tony's work is in the Radio Hall of Fame. He was the emcee for Grundy County Corn Festival for 35 years. He started WCSJ radio station in Morris, Illinois. Was an emcee for many things in McDonough County, such as the Ugly Dog Contest, and the Heritage Days Parade. He was a Ham radio operator and a storm spotter. He did the first children's television show called Tony the Fireman. Tony knew thousands of people.
Tony was a life member of North American Hunting Club, Macomb Eagles, Elks and VFW clubs and volunteered for the Salvation Army. He was a McDonough County Board member for 16 years. He was President for the Lamoine Saddle Club for many years, where many horse riders can remember hearing "GOOD RIDE" during each ride. He was proud to have received the 35-year Belt Buckle Award for trail riding in Eminence, Missouri. He helped many organizations and was a master entertainer making people feel very special while he was an emcee for many area functions.
He served 8 years at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago in the Navy Reserves.
