Just Discovered Here in Alamance County NC Ca 1845 William Esperance Boucher Jr. 37 3/4 Length with 12 Diameter Body 5 String in Original Untouched Surface Condition with Traces of Original Paint Decorations and Traces of Red Paint Around Metal. Complete with All Handmade Brass Wing Nuts and Hardware. Stamped W. Boucher Jr. Baltimore. Banjo Also Comes with Full Provenance Descended Through the Key Family of Franklin Co. Virginia. The Original Owner is Believed to be Walter P. Holland who Fought for the Virginia Confederacy. Also Accompanying the Banjo is a Signed Slave Document From his Brother Peter Holland Dated 1855 to the Sherriff of Franklin County Selling 5 Slaves Over 12 Years Old.
