It was the second all stainless steel revolver made by Smith & Wesson, the first being the Smith & Wesson Model 60.It was widely used by several U.S. police, sheriff and state agencies and was a popular choice in high humid states because the stainless model 64 was more corrosion and rust resistant than the blued Model 10. Originally offered in two variants, a 4" taper barrelled square butt or a 2" round butt, the Model 64 has since been offered in numerous configurations. The 4" heavy barrelled version, introduced in 1974, became a favorite with many police agencies. Five variants were made for NYPD and these revolvers are marked "NY1" as opposed to the more common "NYCPD" marking for department issued guns as these were intended to be purchased by individual officers. It was the first stainless steel revolver authorized for use by NYPD as well as the last revolver approved for use being replaced by 9mm semiautomatic pistols in 1993. Noted for its accuracy, dependability and manageable recoil, the Model 64 is still in use for security, inmate transportation (Corrections), target shooting, formal target competition and personal defense.” Tag Words: Tag Words: Firearm, medium frame, K-frame, CCW, service, lightweight, 38SPL, .38 SPL, .38SPL, 38 Special .38 Special E3230 S&W Model 64-2 Double Action Revolver in 38SPL SN: 30D6462 ZB9798 JAB

During World War II, the vz. 24 was produced for the German armed forces during its occupation. The rifle was also produced in nearby Slovakia, a German ally and puppet state during the war. The vz. 24 rifle was widely exported and enjoyed usage during and after World War 2, noticeably by Romania, the Imperial State of Persia, Guatemala, China and others. 36 - Nazi 1936 SS Dagger with Chain Nazi Model 1936 SS Dagger with sheath and SS Chain with Skull images. This variety has no manufacture markings. Overall condition is 90% with very light handling marks on the blade. The manufacturing of the SS dagger was under the supervision of the RZM in 1934, Which exercised a tight control over the materials, construction and dimensions used in producing the dagger. By 1935 the blades began to be marked with the RZM logo instead of the manufacturer's brand. However, like in many other German blades, there are some examples in which both stamps were placed on the blade. These cases are referred to as transitional. The date may also be stamped just below the logos. It is important to note that some of the SS daggers did not have any markings at all. These remain legitimate examples of the dagger as not all of the blades were stamped. The pommel of the dagger consists of a small round nut. This part screws straight into the tang of the blade holding all the components together. Fittings are found at both ends of the handle. It was in 1934 that these fittings began to be made of Zinc. The scabbard is of metal construction. Painted black. Fittings at both ends were also made of Zinc after 1934. The throat section has a single suspension ring, which is where the dagger hanger was attached. The 1936 model dagger was identical to the 1933 SS dagger in every aspect except for the scabbard. The 1936 model has a mid-body fitting with square patterns adorning it. The throat and mid-body fittings have loops where the chain attaches. The chain consists of alternating SS runnes and death head links. The upper chain has one SS and one death head link. The bottom chain has a total of four alternating links. The links are attached together via the use of a two piece loop. The back of the links can be plained. Have no markings. In some instances they will be stamped with a simple line type SS runnes inside a rectangular box. Like all other examples of the SS dagger, the owner wears it by hanging it from a belt or special hooks inside the uniform. The chains of the 1936 model attach to a celtic designed spring loaded clip which is connected to the belt. ZB9993 DT

42 - Gun Colt Police Positive D/A Revolver in 38Spl Colt Police Positive D/A Revolver in 38Spl. Manufactured in 1972 this little Colt is in very nice condition. It features a blued finish, 5” barrel, wood checkered grips with Colt medallions and fixed sights. Condition grades at a very clean 85-90% with only finish wear from holstering. From the Internet: “The Colt Police Positive was an improvement of Colt’s earlier “New Police” revolver, upgraded with an internal hammer block safety. Colt named this new security device the “Positive Lock”, and its nomenclature ended up being incorporated as a partial namesake for the new revolver. The cylinder of the Police Positive rotated in the clockwise direction, the opposite of firearms maker Smith & Wesson's competing models. Ever a canny competitor in the firearms milieu, Colt missed no opportunity to score a coup d'éclat over its arch rival, and began a marketing campaign which accentuated this detail. In its advertising Colt proclaimed that "All Colt cylinders TURN TO THE RIGHT", and suggested that the Colt design forced the cylinder crane up against the frame, resulting in tighter lockup with less play and better chamber to barrel alignment, thus markedly increasing accuracy. The Police Positive was very successful; along with the Colt Official Police it dominated the law enforcement firearms market in the early 1900s. The Positive was itself incrementally modified in 1908, forming the basis for Colt’s Police Positive Special model. A nickel Police Positive with pearl grips & .32 calibre was used by Charles Bronson as Paul Kersey in Death Wish. The notorious American gangster Al Capone also used a Police Positive, a nickel .38 Police Positive with walnut grips and a 4-inch barrel, manufactured in 1929. In June 2011 a private collector sold it at Christie's for the sum of $109,080” Tag Words: Firearm, Camping, Hiking, Carry Conceal, LE, Police, Home Defense, 38SPL, .38 SPL, .38SPL, 38 Special .38 Special F0743 Colt Police Positive D/A Revolver in 38Spl SN: C18204 ZB10098 JAB

Who knows where this rifle has been, here is an example of events that happened the year this gun was produced. Milk Creek (1879) - Following the Meeker Massacre, the Ute ambushed a column of 150 troops under Major Thomas T. Thornburgh on the northern edge of the White River Reservation, approximately 18 miles from the Indian agency. The soldiers had marched south from Fort Fred Steele, Wyoming in answer to Meeker's plea for help. Forming a wagon corral and sending out a messenger with a call for aid, they held out from September 29 until October 5, 1879. During that time, 35 black cavalrymen, based at Fort Lewis, Colorado, broke through the Indian line to reinforce their comrades-in-arms. A relief expedition of 350 men led by Colonel Wesley Merritt from Fort D. A. Russell, Wyoming finally lifted the siege and rounded up the hostiles. Army casualties were 13 dead, including Major Thornburgh, and 43 wounded. The Government imprisoned several of the Ute leaders, and placed the tribe on a new reservation in Utah. The battlefield site is in Moffat County, Colorado on an unimproved road, about 20 miles northeast of Meeker. The battlefield, situated in a brush-lined canyon, appears today much as it did in 1879. A monument bears the names of the dead soldier. Antique No paperwork needed to purchase. ZB10210 DT

It is built on Smith & Wesson's medium-sized K-frame. Smith & Wesson's Models 16 and 17 have their origins with the company's Pre-World War 2 Hand Ejector series in the 1930s. These two revolver models debuted as companion pieces known as the Models K-32 and K-22 after World War 2. The K-32 Masterpiece (Model 16) debuted in 1935 and was chambered in .32 S&W Long caliber. Production ceased during World War 2 and the revolver was reintroduced in 1947 along with the K-22 Masterpiece (Model 17) in .22 Long Rifle caliber. The Model 17 has an adjustable rear sight and an un-pinned, fixed ramp or Partridge style front sight. It was designed as a target revolver and could be ordered from S&W with "The Three T's”: Target Trigger, Target Hammer and Target Grips. Standard barrel lengths were 4", 6" and 8 3/8". The 4" model 17-6 is infrequently seen, as S&W produced the almost identical, 4" barreled, Model 18. Smooth action and appears to be complete. 32" Barrel with overall length of 49". A great example of an early Winchester Lever Action Shotgun. Fun Fact: The Model 1887 was prominently used by the title character in the film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger. One of the guns used in the film was modified with a pistol grip and an oversized loop on the trigger guard, allowing the character to fire and cycle the action by spinning the weapon backwards around the trigger hand.[4] This in turn has popularized the gun's portrayal in various pop culture, mostly in shooter video games, which mimic the cycling and reloading actions from the movie. A beautiful example of the Colt Python. Used. Includes original serial numbered box and manual. From the Internet: “The Colt Python was first introduced in 1955 as Colt's top-of-the-line model and was originally intended to be a large-frame 38 Special target revolver. As a result, it features precision adjustable sights, a smooth trigger, solid construction, and extra metal. Pythons have a distinct appearance due to a full barrel underlug, ventilated rib and adjustable sights. Originally, Colt manufactured Pythons with hollow underlugs but left them solid to work as a stabilizing barrel weight. From the internet, “The M1 Garand (officially designated as U. It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle. Called "the greatest battle implement ever devised" by General George S. Patton, the Garand officially replaced the bolt-action M1903 Springfield as the standard service rifle of the United States Armed Forces in 1936 (although the switch was not instantaneous) and was subsequently replaced by the selective-fire M14, starting in 1957. The condition grades at 95+% fantastic as it appears to have been fired very little. Used. From the internet, “The Colt Python is a .357 Magnum caliber revolver formerly manufactured by Colt's Manufacturing Company of Hartford, Connecticut. It is sometimes referred to as a "Combat Magnum". It was first introduced in 1955, the same year as Smith & Wesson's M29 .44 Magnum. The now discontinued Colt Python targeted the premium revolver market segment. Some firearm collectors and writers such as Jeff Cooper, Ian V. Hogg, Chuck Hawks, Leroy Thompson, Renee Smeets and Martin Dougherty have described the Python as the finest production revolver ever made. The Colt Python is a double action handgun chambered for the .357 Magnum cartridges, built on Colt's large I-frame. Pythons have a reputation for accuracy, smooth trigger pull, and a tight cylinder lock-up. They are similar in size and function to the Colt Trooper and Colt Lawman revolvers. The Colt Python was first introduced in 1955 as Colt's top-of-the-line model and was originally intended to be a large-frame 38 Special target revolver. 69 - 1871/87 Italian Vetterli VitalI Shortened Bayonet 1871 / 87 Italian Vetterli Vital Shortened Bayonet. This is a originally a sword bayonet used from the period 1871 into WWII (with modifications) and was originally designed to fit the Italian Model 1870 Vetterli Bolt-Action Single-Shot Infantry Rifle. This variant model was probably shortened about the time of the adoption of the Vitali box-magazine conversions of the Vetterli Rifle, thus becoming the Vetterli-Vitali 1870/87 and the bayonets 1871/87; it has also been suggested that these were shortened about the time of the Spanish Civil War (1936-38). There are a number of variations including two distinct shorthened blade lengths: 12" and 9". The 1871/87 - as with the original full-length Model 1871 - was equipped with composition grips. The 1871/87/16 was equipped with wood grips. This modification - from composition to wood - apparently occurred sometime during WWI. All models have a steel pommel, cross guard, and blade. The scabbards are shortened originals, being brass-mounted black leather. A great addition to your edged weapons (Knife) collection. ZC1955 DT

82 - WWI Imperial German Model 1894 Hebel Flare Gun Original WWI Imperial German Model 1894 Hebel Flare Gun Signal Pistol. This is a large "Hebel" Model M1894 flare gun, the "Hebel" reference is not the maker of the pistol, (this gun was made by the firm "Gebr.R.") but in German, refers to the lever action opening of the gun. Made between 1894 – 1918. This WW1 German Balloon Pistol Flare/Signal Pistol is of the Imperial Fliegertruppen. It could be used to fire flares/projectiles at British observation balloons and other aircraft. Has Gebr.R makers marks and 50487 serial number. It does cock and dry fires. There are theories to what else these could be used for including anti tank weapons and gas projectile pistols but German Airforce usage is the only one with solid provenance. However, many of these guns were re-issued in WW2 to the Austrian, Belgium and Nazi Germany military forces and these guns were fitted with front/rear sights. This flare gun does not have any front of rear sights. These guns were carried by the German air service. Has some minor surface rust. Still a solid piece and of interest to any military historians or collectors of war relics. Measures 14.25” total length, the barrel measures 6.5”. 85 - Gun Smith & Wesson 28-2 D/A Revolver in 357Mag Smith & Wesson 28-2 “Highway Patrolman” Double Action Revolver in 357Mag. Features a blued finish, 4” barrel, adjustable sights and factory wood grips with S&W medallions. This gun is in beautiful used condition. The only flaws are the normal turn ring and some very difficult to detect shiny spots on the cylinder flute edges. Condition grades at 95%. Includes the original factory box. From the Internet: “The Model 28, also known as the Highway Patrolman, traces its heritage back to the Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum. The Registered Magnum morphed into the Model 27. Law enforcement agencies favored the Model 27, but its high-polish finish and labor-intensive top strap checkering added expense with no added utility for a police carry gun. The Model 28 is unusual in that Smith & Wesson removed, rather than added, features to the Model 27 to create it, in order to reduce production costs with no reduction in utility. A classic N frame revolver, the Highway Patrolman is blued, but it is not polished, saving labor costs. The top strap and frame rounds are bead blasted to achieve a matte appearance. By the early 1950s Smith & Wesson returned to manufacturing many of its pre-World War II models, including the .357 Magnum, the descendant of the famous Registered Magnum. However, the .357 Magnum was more costly than the standard .38 special revolver of the time. In the late 1940s and the first part of the 1950s Smith & Wesson was the only American gun company manufacturing a .357 magnum revolver. Since this relatively deluxe model was the only revolver available for this cartridge at the time, police departments, as well as individual officers and private shooters, requested from Smith & Wesson a more strictly utilitarian "budget" .357 magnum revolver. S&W responded with the Highway Patrolman (later renamed the Model 28 in 1957). The manufacturing changes made for a more affordable revolver, though mechanically the Highway Patrolman is the same as the more ornate Model 27. The Model 28 was in production from 1954 through 1986. For most of its production run it was a steady seller with both police officers and civilian shooters.” Tag Words: Firearm, 357Mag, .357 Mag, .357Mag, 357 Magnum, .357 Magnum, 357Magnum, .357Magnum E3225 Smith & Wesson 28-2 D/A Revolver in 357Mag SN: N252072 ZB9798 JAB

From the Internet: “The Ruger Security-Six and its variants, the Service-Six and Speed-Six are a product line of double-action revolvers introduced in 1972 and manufactured until 1988 by Sturm, Ruger & Company. These revolvers were marketed to law enforcement duty issue, military, and civilian self-defense markets. The introduction of the Security-Six and its variants marked Sturm Ruger's first attempt to enter the double-action revolver market. The corporation's earlier designs had been Colt Peacemaker-style single-action revolvers. Ruger used investment casting for most parts in an effort to hold down production costs. As with all Ruger firearms, the Security-Six revolvers were robustly designed with large, heavy-duty parts for durability and to allow for investment casting. The "six series" line enjoyed sales success because of their basic features, solid construction, and competitive pricing. Various models were issued by US government agencies as diverse as the former Immigration and Naturalization Service, the Postal Service, the Border Patrol, and numerous police agencies. The Security-Six and its derivatives also became the standard issue service weapons of a large number of police departments, in addition many were exported overseas. While Ruger's Security-Six line has been out of production since 1988, a total of over 1.5 million revolvers were produced and they remain well-liked and respected, as well as highly sought after in the second-hand market.” Tag Words: Firearm, 357Mag, .357 Mag, .357Mag, 357 Magnum, .357 Magnum, 357Magnum, .357Magnum E3232 Ruger Security-Six D/A Revolver in 357Mag SN: 150-39390 ZB9798 JAB

202 - Named Honorably discharged Medal/ Papers Civil War Civil War Set with Named Discharge Papers and Honorably Discharged Medal with the name David Strickling on the side of the medal, A Bible Dictionary dated 1873 and 3 Daguerreotype plates (Tin Photo's) of David Strickling who served one year with Company E Seventh Regiment of West Virginia Infantry. The 7th West Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. For much of the war, it was a part of the famed "Gibraltar Brigade" in the Army of the Potomac. It was famed primarily for two major actions, a determined charge on the Sunken Road at Antietam and a late evening counterattack on East Cemetery Hill at Gettysburg that helped push back an attack by the Louisiana Tigers. David Strickling was there during the "Appomattox Campaign" which was a series of American Civil War battles fought March 29 – April 9, 1865 in Virginia that concluded with the surrender of Confederate General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia to the Union Army (Army of the Potomac, Army of the James and Army of the Shenandoah) under the overall command of Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant. 203 - Military WWI U.S. Doughboy M1917 Helmet & Belt Helmet and Web Belt Rig. A genuine WWI Doughboy Helmet Model M1917 with original strap and felt pad. Helmet is in as found condition with a few dings but displays very well. The M-1917 helmet was very similar to the British Mk. I helmet. The helmet was basically an inverted bowl stamped out of a single piece of manganese alloy, which was made up of 13 percent manganese and was .036" thick. This differed from the British helmet, as the Mk. I helmet was made up of 12 percent manganese. Thus ballistically, the M-1917 helmet increased protection for the wearer by 10 percent over the British Mk. I helmet, and could withstand a .45 caliber pistol bullet traveling at 600 feet per second fired at a distance of 10 feet. A rim was spot welded to the edge of the steel bowl, with the ends butted, as opposed to lapped, which was done on the British Mk. I helmet. Riveted to the steel bowl were two flexible guiding loops for the chin strap. Here again, the U.S. M-1917 helmet differed from the British Mk. I helmet. On the U.S. helmet the loops were secured by solid machined rivets, whereas the British Mk. I helmet used split rivets. An adjustable leather chin strap was riveted to the steel bowl and consisted of two halves, each joined together by metal loops which were secured to the ends of the leather halves by steel split rivets. Also riveted to the steel bowl was the helmet lining. Also a Canvas Web Belt with Ammo Pouch and Compass Pouch. The rig is in excellent condition! A great example of a genuine WWI Relic or accessories. World War One ZB1709 DT

Endorsed by the likes of Bat Masterson and Buffalo Bill Cody this 1907 Savage is in excellent condition with a very smooth action and trigger. Includes the factory magazine. Minor finish wear from age and light use. From the Internet: "The Savage Model 1907 is a semi-automatic pocket pistol produced by the Savage Arms Company of Utica, New York, from 1907 until 1920 in .32 ACP and from 1913 until 1920 in .380 ACP caliber. Although smaller in size, it is derived from the .45 semi-automatic pistol Savage submitted to the 1906-1911 US Army trials to choose a new semi-automatic sidearm. After several years of testing the Savage pistol was one of two finalists but ultimately lost to the Colt entry, which became famous as the Colt Model 1911. 181 of these .45 ACP pistols were returned to Savage after the testing and sold on the civilian market." "The Model 1907 is often erroneously called a Model 1905 because of the date Nov. 21, 1905 date stamped into the top of the slide on all Savage semi-automatic pistols. This is the date Elbert Searle was awarded one of his firearm patents, which were the design basis for all the Savage semi-automatic pistols. Advertised with the slogan "Ten shots quick!", the Model 1907 was very popular because, despite its small size, it had a 10 round double-stack magazine. The advertising included a number of early celebrity endorsers, including William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, Bat Masterson, and the Pinkerton Agency. Teddy Roosevelt was even presented with a Model 1907. Much of the advertising in the popular press played on the ability of an otherwise defenseless woman to use the Savage to subdue burglars and "tramps." It was the first standard-issue semi-automatic rifle. It was the first commercial repeating firearm employing a revolving cylinder with multiple chambers aligned with a single, stationary barrel. Its design was patented by Samuel Colt on February 25, 1836, in the United States, France, and England, and it derived its name from being produced in Paterson, New Jersey. Initially this 5-shot revolver was produced in .28 caliber, with a .36 caliber model following a year later. As originally designed and produced, no loading lever was included with the revolver; a user had to disassemble the revolver partially to re-load it. Starting in 1839, however, a reloading lever and a capping window were incorporated into the design, allowing reloading without requiring partial disassembly of the revolver. This loading lever and capping window design change was also incorporated after the fact into most Colt Paterson revolvers that had been produced from 1836 until 1839.[1] Unlike later revolvers, a folding trigger was incorporated into the Colt Paterson. The trigger only became visible upon cocking the hammer. A subsequent patent renewal in 1849, and aggressive litigation against infringements, gave Colt a domestic monopoly on revolver development until the middle 1850s." It was the second all stainless steel revolver made by Smith & Wesson, the first being the Smith & Wesson Model 60.It was widely used by several U.S. police, sheriff and state agencies and was a popular choice in high humid states because the stainless model 64 was more corrosion and rust resistant than the blued Model 10. From the Internet: “The Remington Model 95 is a double-barrel pocket pistol commonly recognized as a derringer. The design was little changed during a production run of nearly 70 years through several financial reorganizations of the manufacturer causing repeating serial number sequences. Guns were offered with engraving or plain blued or nickel-plated finish with grips of metal, walnut, rosewood, hard rubber, ivory or pearl. The earliest production had no extractors and have E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. stamped on the right side of the barrel and ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC. 12, 1865 stamped on the left side of the barrel. These inscriptions were swapped to opposite sides of the barrel when extractors were added in 1869. In 1880, the inscription was changed to E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC. 12th 1865 and placed atop the barrel rib. The barrel rib top inscription changed to REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y. in 1888 and again to REMINGTON ARMS U.M.C. CO. 320 - Gun Browning BDM in 9MM Semi Auto Pistol Browning Model BDM in 9MM Semi-Automatic Pistol is a recoil operated, locked breech pistol that features the “Browning Double Mode” which is a hammer firing type trigger ‘mode’ switch to toggle between double-action/single-action mode and double action only mode; parkerized carbon finish; 4.72” barrel; slotted mode switch; ambidextrous safety/decocking lever; serrated slide; 3-Dot White Sights; serrated combat-style hammer; hard rubber textured grips; (1)10 rd. magazines; factory box. Condition is 90% with minor finish wear from use. Used. From the internet, “The Browning BDM is a semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured by the Browning Arms Company until production ceased in 1998. Similar in appearance to Browning's (FN Herstal) P-35 model "Hi-Power" pistol, the BDM was actually a new design created to compete in service trials as a standard issue pistol for the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation. However, the BDM was not ultimately adopted for issue by the FBI, and was instead sold only in the private market. The pistol is a magazine fed, self-loading, hammer firing type which was designed with a trigger "mode" switch installed on the left-hand side of the slide (actually only a flush inlaid disk with a bisecting groove), toggling between double-action/single-action (DA/SA) pistol mode, and the double-action-only (DAO) or "revolver" mode—though, of course, other than the similarity of the trigger mode, the BDM has no resemblance to revolvers. This mode switch is what gives the handgun its name, with BDM standing for "Browning Dual Mode" or "Browning Double Mode". 325 - Gun Colt Python D/A Revolver in 357Mag Colt Python D/A Revolver in 357Mag. Manufactured in 1979 and features a nickel plated finish, 4” barrel, adjustable sights, wood grips with Colt Medallions. Condition grades at 80-85% with normal wear from use. Includes the original serial numbered box and manual. When the revolver is at full cock, just as the trigger is pressed, the cylinder locks up for the duration of the hammer strike. Other revolvers have a hint of looseness even at full-cock. The gap between the cylinder and forcing cone is very tight, further aiding accuracy and velocity. Starting in the 1970s each Python revolver was boresighted at the factory with a laser and was the first mass-produced revolver to do so.” Tag Words: Firearm, Military, Police, Law Enforcement, 357Mag, .357 Mag, .357Mag, 357 Magnum, .357 Magnum, 357Magnum, .357Magnum E3512 Colt Python D/A Revolver in 357Mag SN: V52398 ZB5640 JAB

The rifle with which this example was issued was made in 1900 by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM). Most have aluminum alloy grips, like this example. Some have brass grips. There has been a lot of fiction spread regarding the brass grips being for the Navy, for NCO's, and the like. None of that is true. According to Webster's well-documented book on Argentine Military Rifles: The aluminum grip scales were part of an effort to lighten the bayonet. The grip metal is an alloy of aluminum, with 6 percent copper. Argentina opted for the 15.75 inch blade, after seeing that Chile was going to adopt a shorter (10-inch blade) bayonet for their Mauser's. However, the prototype bayonets turned out heavier than the Argentines liked, so they made a number of design changes (thinner blade, slimmer hilt, and others). A great addition to your edged weapons (Knife) collection. ZC1955 DT

This Type 99 is complete with the wire monopod, wing style anti-aircraft sights, receiver dust cover and a very sharp and distinct Japanese Imperial Chrysanthemum. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer Type 99. From the internet: “The Type 99 rifle Arisaka or Type 99 short rifle was a bolt-action rifle of the Arisaka design used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Though the Arisaka rifle has never been exported to the USA in great numbers, there are many available—most having been brought home by Marines and soldiers returning from the Pacific theater. In many cases, the imperial chrysanthemum atop the receiver has been defaced by the surrendering Japanese in order to preserve the Emperor's honor: the mark indicated that the rifle was the Emperor's personal property. Rifles with an intact chrysanthemum often bring a premium on the collector market, sometimes almost double the price for a like model defaced rifle. Many have been rechambered to more common calibers, due to the relative scarcity of factory 7.7×58 Arisaka, unlike other rifles of the period, it is particularly suitable because of its robust action." Condition grades at 90%+ with only minor signs of use. From the Internet: “The Smith & Wesson K-38 Combat Masterpiece Revolver Model 15 is a derivative of the classic 1899 K-frame (medium frame) Military and Police .38 S&W Special (aka .38 Special) six-shot double-action revolver. The M&P underwent steady evolution throughout the 20th century and S&W spun off several variations as separate models in the post World War II years. One of these was the K-38 Target Masterpiece, which began production in 1947. The Target Masterpiece included a number of new and/or special features, including a six-inch barrel with a narrow rib to provide a level sight plane, a Patridge front sight, a micrometer click rear sight, S&W’s .375” short-throw hammer, a trigger adjustment for overtravel, and improved grips. Noting the accuracy of the Target Masterpiece, a number of police departments and the FBI soon requested the same revolver with a four-inch barrel and a Baughman Quick Draw front sight. The result was the K-38 Combat Masterpiece. The major distinction between the K-38 Target Masterpiece and the K-38 Combat Masterpiece is the barrel length and the front sight. In 1957 the K-38 Combat Masterpiece was renamed the Model 15 when all Smith & Wesson revolvers were given numerical model numbers. (The Military & Police and the Target Masterpiece were renamed the Model 10 and Model 14 respectively.) The model number is stamped on the frame behind the cylinder yoke, so it is visible (only) when the cylinder is open. A number of production and engineering changes have been made throughout the years, some of which are noted by a dash number suffixed to the Model number (15-1, -2, -3). Over the years the Model 15 has been produced with several barrel lengths, with 4" (standard) and 2" (1964–1988) being the most common. In 1972 S&W released a stainless steel version as the Model 67. In 1997 the hammer and internal lockworks were modified from an on-the-hammer firing pin / internal hammer block to a floating firing pin / MIM flat hammer, and kept the hammer block that, unlike a transfer bar safety design, moves up with the trigger pull. The hammer hits a transfer bar, transferring the strike to the firing pin, while the block in a hammer block system moves down with the trigger pull, unblocking the hammer from the firing pin, allowing the hammer to strike the firing pin. These two safety systems work oppositely, but achieve the same goal of only allowing the gun to fire when the trigger is pulled all the way. The Model 15 was a popular sidearm for law enforcement and was the standard issue sidearm of the U.S. Air Force Police from 1962 until 1992 when it was replaced by the Beretta M9 pistol.[citation needed] Production of the Model 15 was discontinued in 1999 when Smith & Wesson was purchased and reorganized, although a couple limited run "Heritage Series" models were released in 2001 and 2002. In 2011 Smith & Wesson re-introduced the Model 15 (15-10) under their Classics Revolvers line, newly machined, with a shrouded redesigned barrel, and a built-in trigger lock (located just above the cylinder release thumbpiece on the left side.” Tag Words: Tag Words: Firearm, medium frame, K-frame, CCW, service, lightweight, 38SPL, .38 SPL, .38SPL, 38 Special .38 Special E3224 Smith & Wesson 67 Double Action Revolver in 38Spl SN: 5K381 ZB9798 JAB
