    1835 S PLEASANTS HIGHWAY, ST. MARYS, WV: At the intersection of Route #2 and the Ohio River bridge at St. Marys, continue South on Route #2 for 3/4 mile. Sale is on the left. Watch for sign. From Parkersburg drive North on Route #2 for 25 minutes. Sale is on the "Right" 3/4 mile before St. Marys city limits.

We are pleased to have been commissioned to sell the household furnishings and personal property for Ann and Jim Beck who are moving from a large 3 level home in Vienna to a smaller single level home, plus the balance of two local estates that need to be sold by the end of the year.


AUCTIONEER'S NOTE: Sunday's sale is a continuation of Saturday's sale as described above and in our Dec. 3rd listing. It will contain items we don't sell on Saturday, Sunday's specific estate items, plus the bulk of approximately 300 lots still on the truck. More specific Sunday items see photo gallery and below.


The round table with drawer that you see in the first gallery picture is quite rare. It is solid Walnut hand made at the Strobel Furniture St. Marys, Va. (later to be St. Marys, WVa.). The table was made during the Civil War period and his inked seal on the inside of the drawer says: "From John M. Strobel Manufacturer of all Kinds of Furniture. Undertaking Promptly Attended to. St. Marys West Virginia." He also made caskets. The second gallery picture is a very old newspaper clipping of Strobel. The table will be sold with the newspaper clipping and the key for the drawer. Selling the new (never been fired) Marlin self loading rimfire 22 rifle with owner's manual, rare Viking mauve satin 13" bowl with matching medium and accessory bowls, Queen size bookcase bed with mirror and decorative trim, afghans, quilt tops, and large variety of needlework, old Miner's pick, beautiful antique Walnut sewing rocker (circa 1860's) with carved back that folds up for storage (excellent condition), afghans, quilt tops and other needlework, old primitive door chimes, vintage sheet music, old "Daisy" "Red Ryder BB gun, Black & Decker 3/8 drill, Hohner "Comet" harmonica, Schumacher 10/2 dual rate battery charger, Stihl chain saw with extra bar, chain, 2cycle oil, bar oil, ear muffs and hard hat, powered 8" "Active" subwoofer speaker, compact disc player with AM/FM radio (new-still in box), very collectible Currier & Ives book "Printmakers to the American People" by Harry T. Peters (loaded with framable prints), 2 books by Ken Heckler (Hero of the Rhine" (Karl Timmermann story) and "The Bridge at Remagen", sets of brass candle holders, collection of very expensive 1950s and 60s books of piano music (with guitar chords), 72 piece set of "Corning" dinnerware, angel and cross figurines, nice collection of good costume jewelry, old milk glass lamp with amber shade, large mugs & stein, Amboina, and Clear glassware, wood candle aubra, Budweiser "Endangered Species" stoneware beer stein (with certificate), Old "Greyhound" "20 years safe driving" presentation clock (no hands), classic mantle clock, large variety of collectible glassware, nice blond hardwood dining table with 6 bentwood arrow-back chairs, framed pictures of virtually all types and sizes, small and large vintage and antique collectibles, nice 6 1/2 ft. tall by 3ft. wide showcase with mirrored back and side opening, Craftsman band saw, Craftsman orbital sander, very large collection of all kinds of cookbooks, glass etching or rifle boring lathe with "Browning" variable speed controls (needs cleaned-up) but runs, plus too many more items to list.
