 RARE OPPROTUNITY: Cast Iron Mechanical—Pat.1890 Bank –Girl Skipping Rope – According to Z&K Antiques “There are approximately 30 original banks known today”. The J & E Stevens Co.’s Girl Skipping Rope –designed by James Bowen - circa 1890. What an Iconic piece to be available for public auction -- will be sold with a reserve. There have been two similar banks sold or will be sold at public auction. Cowan’s auction sold on 9/19/2015 a “20th Century – cast iron girl skipping rope mechanical bank by Stevens marked Pat. Feb 2, 1925; $26,400 plus 18% buyers premium which totaled $4,752.00 with an ending selling price of $ 31,142.00 There is a Girl Skipping Rope Bank at  an upcoming national auction Jan. 15, 2017 which is in fair to average condition and a repair and they estimated the bank between 20-30 thousand. The bank we have for sale has never been up for sale ----coming from the original family. Its condition is 9 to 9.5  in our estimation, with the pat. Date of 1890 on its base thus a 19th Century edition, it has no repairs and is in fine mechanical working condition. Bank will be sold with a reserve.
