Lot #111: Large  impressionist mid-century oil painting of a semi-nude woman, Woodstock artist Dorfman.

Grozer: “Pheobus, a capital hunter belonging to LORD VISCOUNT ASHBROOK when 18 years old carrying 14 stone he beat BOS, 6 years old carrying 12 stone, the property of JT Hoyts Esq for 100 guineas each four miles over LAMBOURNE COURSE April 1st, 1796.” ‘Published as the law directs 1796 for the proprietor by J. Grozer.” / Drawn by Benj. Stedd.”  Frame 26 1/2" X 24“. Water stains along burlap matting over wood (walnut?) not affecting the image.
 
116)  Dighton, Richard, [illustrator]:    "Mr. Kean as Lucius Junius, in Brutus, 1818." Plate #36 from Characters at the West End of the Town. Drawn and Etched by Richard Dighton. London: Published by Thomas M'Lean, Repository of Wit and Humour, 1825. This is one of forty superb hand-colored engraved plates of London 'West-End' Characters. Image measures 14” high x 10” wide, on large folio sheet measuring 17” high by 10 ¼” wide, in wood frame with red velvet borders measuring 21 ¾” high by 14.5” wide. Lower section of frame is loose. Edmund Kean [1787-1833] played in Howard Payne's 'Brutus, or the Fall of Tarquin' which was first performed at Drury Lane on 3 December 1818.
 
117: HENRI TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864–1901):  “L'Entôleuse  Chanson Vécue-Musique de  CLOËREC-MAUPAS ” Music sheet printed 1918. Originally published as ”Pauvre Pierreuse” in 1893. Printed in black on yellow paper. Image 10.56” high by 13.5” wide in silvered color metal frame measuring 16 ¼” high by 19.5” wide.  Another example can be found in the Gross Collection in the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA), Boston @ http://www.mfa.org/collections/object/lent%C3%B4leuse-174860   
 
118:  Honoré Daumier (1808-1879):  “La Fluidomanie, La Vértable danse des tables.”  From the ‘Occultism’ series of "table-turning" prints published in "Le Charivari" in the 1850's under the serial name of "La Fluidomanie".  This lithograph on stone is clean and in good condition, with the exception of a conserved tear in the lower margin and evidence of a vertical fold down center of image. Signed on the stone "HD" for Honoré Daumier. Measures 7.3” high x 10.6 " wide in silver colored metal frame measuring 15´” high by 16 ¾” wide.  http://www.philographikon.com/daumieroccult.html

122: Tindal, Nicholas: Plan of the City of Bouchain Situated upon the Rivers Sensette and Scheld in the County of Hainault. Published London c.1732-51. From “Tindal's Continuation of Rapin's History of England”. Inset of the "Prospect of the City of Dendermonde". Engraved by J. Basire.  Size: 14 high x 18 inches wide. In larger wood frame and acid free matting. Condition: uncolored copper plate engraving as issued. Has period paper margin extenders on reverse. References: Shirley, R.W. (BL Atlases) G.RAP-1a, #14. Region: Europe: Belgium, Flanders.
 
123 &124:  Hiroshige; woodblock: “3 small birds & two pink flowers.” and Hiroshige; woodblock: “2 small birds in moon light flying over frozen bushes” Blue background. Signed and sealed. Not examined out of frame. Frame is 17” x 8”. VG condition. 

125:  Koryusai woodblock: “Woman w/umbrella in snow”.  Frame is 15"x5" Appears to be more recent.  

126: North, S.N.D.:  “HEADS OF FAMILIES AT THE FIRST CENSUS OF THE UNITED STATES TAKEN IN THE YEAR 1790. MASSACHUSETTS”. Published 1908 by the Department of Commerce, Bureau of the Census. 363p, original wrappers somewhat tattered, folded map. Vertical stain front cover. Very clean inside. 

Lot#131: American Indian tribal drum, Eastern woodlands of Garrison-Hudson NY, yellow-brown-white earth colorings, good original condition.

Lot #133: Fine French Renaissance silk work court painting-picture of St Louis, King of France, various mixed-media, estimated 16-17th Century in antique frame 

Lot #134: English wood carving of St George and the dragon, oak Gothic style, circa 1800.
 
Lot #136:  Howell, Reading: “District of Pennsylvania to wit: Be it remembered, that on the thirteenth day of June, in the fifteenth year of the Independence of the United States of America , Reading Howell, of the said district, hath deposited in this office the title of a Map, the Right thereof he claims as Author, in the Words, to wit, “A Map of Pennsylvania, and the parts connected therewith relating to the Roads and inland Navigation, especially as proposed to be improved by the late Proceedings  of Assembly. (Copied from his larger Map) by Reading Howell. In Conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, entitled, An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies during the Times therein mentioned.” This map was printed in 1834 for a US Congress report.  This edition measures approximately 21” high by 33” wide.  Uncolored as issued. Matted and framed.

Lot #137:  Faden, William: “A Map of the Northern Part of France with the Adjacent Netherlands Netherlands, and the Course of the Rhine from Upper Alsace to Dusseldorf; to facilitate the Knowledge of the Operations Carried on by The Austrian Armies against The French Conventional Troops”. Published London 1795.  23.5 x 31.5 inches [H x W] Outline color. Aside from minor margin tear, overall condition is VG. Matted.
 
Lot #138:  Wyld, James: “The Empire of France And the Kingdom of Italy with Part of the States of the Confederation of the Rhine.” Published 1824. Image is 21 x 35 inched [H x W]. Early full color. Condition is VG or better.

Lot #148: Icon, Russia, ca. 1800. A beautiful cast brass piece depicting a Crucifix, Saints, and various religious scenes.

Lot #152: Oil on board initial monogram MO,  Maria Oakey Dewing 
INVENTORY INFO ACCOMPANYING THE PAINTING: facts of this Maria Oakey painting.
Date of the painting, an M.O. early work and extraordinary floral work of hers is here & correct by all comparisons.
Her status is based on her outstanding floral work of which the iris, followed by the lily are most prominant. She established grand gardens, showed in competitions & wrote on horticulture.
The painting comes directly from the collection and estate of Adelaide Pearson of Blue Hill, Me.
Miss Pearson was highly prominant as an early Egyptologist, (1920-on), an author and a noted woman explorer. She, the founder and artist potter of famed Blue Hill Pottery. She was a collector on a grand scale, .. ancient to modern such as numerous notable Calder sculpture ..her sale was held on her property about 42 years ago, .. and, she, being an author of many interests including floral horticulture, had collected some fine florals and still lifes, mostly American.
 She was the principle bequiether and lender as well as on the board of her alma-mater, the Bowdoin Colledge Art Museum, Brunswick, Me. This painting was once lent and shown there as a work of Maria Oakey, since known more often asd Maria Oakey Dewing after her marriage to the famed artist.

Lot #170: Ludvik Durchanek, Important Russian-American artist, oil painting on panel of dancers-musicians-animals, 48", very good condition.

Lot #172: Oil on canvas. Stormy French Street Scene. Signed lower left Vlaminck. Period Frame. 22"H. x 18". Maurice de Vlaminck, 1876 - 1958  An all original oil on canvas of nice size, by this important French artist. Of common subject, a French village scene on its original and un-relined French canvas and stretcher, fine condition without repairs, and in a fine old frame. From a north Florida family, said purchased in London auction, some few years after WWII. By all indications, it appears to probably have been painted in the late 1930's or 40's. A fine and strong work by this famed internationally recognized artist, in exceptional and fresh condition, with a very nice quality frame.

Lot #190: Hanging coffee house sign in the form of a large 32"  coffee pot, tombak copper, Ottoman Turkish, rare probable 1700s

Lot #225: Enterprise coffee mill grinder, antique double 25 inch wheels, complete with interior grinder and eagle decoration.

Lot #226:     Atmos clock, Jaeger LeCoultre Switzerland, gets the energy it needs to run from temperature and atmospheric pressure changes in the environment, and can run for years without human intervention. Working condition.

Lot #244: Bedouin enamel decorated box with sliding top and strap holder, probably a Koran book holder, Moroccan 1900, very good condition.
