William Gordon Buckner passed away on May 24, at the age of 81. This lifelong benefactor of Marshall, Missouri, and Saline County, was proud of his family heritage on both his mother's (Gordon) side and his father's (Buckner) side. From Civil War Generals to Marshall, Missouri civic and business leaders, the Buckner family name is well-known throughout Saline County. This auction features treasured family antiques and relics passed down for generations; a number of George Caleb Bingham engravings and lithos; fine art by Charles Partridge Adams and others; exquisite estate jewelry; sterling silver table sets and silver coins; an extensive library; high end electronics either gently used or new in the box; souvenirs from Gordon's world travels; and much more!

Gordon achieve the silver beaver award as a proud Boy Scout. Later he attended Westminster College and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He transferred to and graduated from Northwestern University and later earned an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. Gordon enlisted and served in the US Army and served three years in the Army Security Agency. He graduated as a Russian language interpreter. After graduation he joined the Wood & Huston Bank and served several capacities, including a member of the Board of Directors, before leaving in 1983 to start several businesses offering employment, accounting and tax services. His hobbies included amateur radio, photography, bicycling and world traveling with his loved companion, Betty Clements.
