Opening Nominal Bid of $50,000. Historic single family home on 5.36 acres. Built in 1810 with 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Picturesque property with pond and large 3 bay garage. The house was built in 1810 by Bildad Bradley and owned by prominent Newbury citizens over the years.  James A. Garfield slept  three nights in the house in 1857 (documentation provided in Garfield’s dairy). The Union Chapel  across the street was built in 1858 and dedicated to free speech.  Many suffragettes spoke there including Louisa May Alcott and Susan B. Anthony.  A large centennial oak tree was planted in 1876 by the suffragettes on the neighbor’s property and is beautifully visible from the house with its canopy spanning the north yard. The previous owner Beverly Ash, who passed away in March 2016 extensively researched the history of the house and her conclusive findings are accessible at the Chagrin Falls Historical Society.

TITLE & CLOSING: You will be receiving a Marketable/Insurable Title. Closing will take place at Lawyers Title Chardon Ohio. Buyer will pay all closing cost and six months accrued taxes. 

Must close on property on or before December 1, 2016 Subject Prior to Sale.Financing is the buyers obligation as you should be pre-approved before bidding as there are no financing or inspections contingencies or other delays allowed.
