Hey guys:
Thanks for all your responses, I wanted to make sure this person knew, not all storage managers have worked at Mcickey D's. I worked for Public Storage back in 1999 for one year. At that time i was a licensed auctioneer, but never went to any of the sales. I can honestly say,Public Storage does them the right way. Thye are not picked through at all.Honestly....If they are, soemone is doing something wrong, and will be caught.

That's OK, Jim - I find most of your posts annoying and condescending. I guess that makes things even.

What are you looking to "get even" with me about? I'm not sure what you are referencing within this post or whether you are only looking to lash out at me due to past dialogs in other posts, which may have had differing points of view.

However, if you view a difference of opinion as annoying, then there's not much I can do about that. As far as condescending, I do not instigate such commentaries, although if provoked, I may be quite candid in my response. So, excuse me if this response may be one of those that certainly seem to fall into that category of instigation, as I will respond according to the apparent attack upon the credibility of my comments in this forum.

My comments on this forum are and have always been, intended to help inform and educate, as well as dispel many of the myths and perceptions that so many seem to have, concerning the auction industry. The information I provide is usually substantiated with facts, laws, and personal experience.

Of course, there will always be those that think they know more about my profession than I do and will attempt to educate me on how it "should be done", but that continues to only be a matter of perception versus reality. As I was confronted with a similar conversation in a class I was teaching years ago, my response provided a philosophical statement that comes into play, regardless of the subject.
Perception is not Reality,
as you can not change Reality.
Once you understand the Reality,
only the Perception is subject to change.

Therefore, I only hope to help others to understand the underlying concepts, laws, ethics and other matters of the auction profession, in an effort to help them understand that their perception may not always be reality and they will gain the knowledge to know the difference.

If you find that condescending, then it may only mean that you don't wish to accept the facts as presented and wish to argue or tell everyone what is wrong with those "crooked auctioneers", as you've implied in past dialogs. Of course, if you already have your mind made up, I doubt that any knowledgeable auctioneer is going to change your mind. However, I find such comments in that context to be annoying and condescending towards auctioneers, as well.

Now, if you wish to have a dialog and present the facts and/or question certain aspects, you will likely find many that will offer their own knowledge and experience. However, if you only wish to post such condescending remarks towards someone or their profession, you are only provoking others to respond accordingly. If you wish to call me and discuss any matter, you may find that I'm quite friendly, as well as honest, and who knows... but your perception may be subject to change.

Well said Jim. We exist in our profession to educate the public when they are open to learning. Of course, some people are not open to learning.

Thanks Steve:
How are you? I have been trying to get your attention for some time now. Again you have done something for the auction community that no one else has done, yeh......?
My complaint is: The on line bidding system:::: Myself and others have had numerous problems with it. We need to be able to have the on line bidder approved by us with a copy of a credit card number so we can immediately bill them if the bid is won. My one freind spent 2 hours contacting these people, paid the consignor, and she never got almost $300 paid to her. Proxibid, whom I have used before, gives you the list once the auction is over. We can then bill them and our work is much easier. I can not be contacting these buyers as some are not home, have no answering machine or do not respond. This is a lot of time spent. Of course we pay them for this, but I would gladly pay for this service to auctionzip. as I totally beleive in auctionzip. You know that as we have spoke when you were in Orlando, years ago. I now live in georgia.
Now I had pop ups coming on everytime I log on about the catalog, and I needed to update the prices. It will not go away. I ween in and put $0 on everything to get it off, which it did not, and now I had people e-mailing me saying they had won the bid from stuff back in November, and did not understand why they were notified? I e-mailed them and said I do not know what happened. Can we improve this, and pleas stop that pop up everytime I log on? Please?????? I really want to use the on ine bidding, but we have to simplfy the procedure to make it easier on us the auctioneer. Please let me know what you can do. Again thanks for all your contributions to the auction community, it is great.....

CAROLE I AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE ONLINE BIDDING SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN WAITING ON A 419.00 PAYMENT FOR ABOUT A MONTH. THE GUY KEEPS TELLING ME A DIFFERENT STORY. WE NEED TO GET IT WHERE THE BIDDERS HAVE TO PAY. A CREDIT CARD IDEA IS GOOD. IT WILL MAKE THESE GUYS TAKE THEIR BIDS MORE SERIOUS.

Yep...the number and frequency of bidders that do not follow through with payment keep increasing. Registration with a credit card would be nice.
