Black Powder Colt Single Action Army Revolver with U.S. Marked Grip and Holster Rig Manufactured in 1886 as a civilian model and fitted with a U.S. marked grip. The barrel has two-line Hartford address on top, the left side of the frame has the three-line, three-patent date marking, and the left side of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL." There are no "U.S." or inspector initials on the metal components. Matching serial numbers are found on the frame and grip straps. The assembly number "245" is on the loading gate. The replaced grip has the date "1883" and a script letter cartouche stamped on the left side and traces of a cartouche on the right side. The bottom of the grip has "DFC" inspector initials for David F. Clark. The brown leather holster rig has an "RHB" marked rivet. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action BBL: 4 3/4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 45 Long Colt Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: walnut Serial Number: 117912 Class: Antique Condition: Very good. The barrel and ejector rod housing retaining 40% original blue finish and heavy amounts of original blue finish and original case colors remaining in the protected areas. Otherwise, the revolver has a smooth gray patina. There is some light pitting (mostly on the cylinder and recoil shields). The slightly undersized re-oiled grip is good with a chip missing near the bottom (right side) and some minor pressure dents and scratches (mostly on the bottom). Mechanically excellent. The holster rig is good showing the letter "W" marked twice on the holster, a few holes, missing stitching and flex wear.
