Lot 260: Lionel #5F Test Set (209 views)

Lionel #5F Test Set
Description: Last lot of our cataloged portion of the sale (lots more stuff being sold beside the on-line portion…you should plan to attend in person if possible) This test set is just how we found it. It is untested and a bit dusty from sitting. The one handle is off and the other is loose so I'm sure it will need some restoration somewhere. The case is very nice and I'm sure someone will love to restore this hard to come by item. Take a good look! ****General Disclaimer****Keep in mind that this estate had been closed up for better than 25 years. All items may show signs of use, storage, and general aging.Boxes when present may or may not exhibit wear and tear and general aging. All items are being offered just as we found them, untouched and untested. I would say that most items in this sale will need at least a cleaning and at worst a restoration if you choose. We tried not to include any items in this catalog with major flaws and any visable flaws we have tried to mention. Let the photos be your guide for bidding and contact us with specific questions. All items sold as is, where is, with no returns based on condition of item. Please read the terms and conditions posted at the beginning of the auction.

Shipping

We do all of our own, in house shipping. Most small items will be able to fit into a large USPS flat rate package (about the size of a basketball) which costs approximately $15.00 coast to coast. To this we add a signature confirmation, $2.35 and insurance which will run $4.00 and up depending on price. We add an additional 10% to the overall shipping charges which will round out an average of $25.00 per package give or take. If the item is smaller, we will ship in a smaller package which will cost less, if the item is bigger or needs double boxed, it will cost more. We do not gouge on shipping. More often than not, we end up under charging the buyer. We are very good at estimating shipping costs so we may finalize the transaction and get your item in the mail to you. Most items are shipped well within (4) days of auctions close. Keep in mind, whatever we charge is a LOT cheaper than any pack and ship company will charge you and I assure you, the items will be packed with the utmost care considering their unique nature. We are very good shippers. Of course, items of considerable size, fragility, and unusual nature that would fall outside the scope of our in house shipping resources will be directed to a professional packer / shipper after consulting with the buyer.
