David F. Clark Sub-Inspected U.S. Colt Cavalry Model Single Action Army Revolver with New Jersey Marking This revolver was manufactured in 1883 and has the "D.F.C." initials of ordinance inspector David F. Clark ahead of the serial number on the frame, the cylinder, and on the bottom of the barrel which also has a "P" stamp slightly ahead. The serial numbers match, and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "2240". The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line Hartford address and has a fixed blade front sight. The left side of the frame has the three-line/three-date patent information followed by "U.S." It has the correct bullseye ejector head. It has an additional "NJ" (New Jersey Militia) marking near the cylinder pin on the bottom of the barrel and a "3" on the left side of the grip at the top. The sides of the grip have faint cartouches. Many Single Action Army revolvers produced in this period were issued and used during the last Indian War battles and the Spanish-American War. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action Army BBL: 7 1/2 inch round Stock: Gauge: 45 Colt Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: walnut Serial Number: 95919 Class: Antique Condition: Very good. The action remains excellent. The markings are legible throughout. A solid representative example of a U.S. Colt Cavalry Model Single Action Revolver!
