Joey Seals is the broker of CENTURY 21 Lakes Land & Auction which was formerly CENTURY 21 Seals Realtors & Auction which was founded by Billy Joe & Montye Seals (Joey’s parents) in the early 70’s. Joey grew up in Madison and graduated from Goodpasture High School and then Belmont University with a BBA in Management. Out of high school, he walked-on with the Baseball team at Belmont University where he worked hard and earned a scholarship. After his senior year, he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers after being selected in the 1989 June Amateur Draft. He played 3 years in their organization before an injury shortened his career. He was licensed with the Real Estate Commission in 1988 and the Auctioneer Commission in 1990. He did not actively begin either of those careers until after baseball in 1992.
Joey has worked solely in the real estate and auction industry since 1992. In September of 2002, Joey and 2 partners purchased the stock in the company from Joey’s Parents. In the fall of 2006, the company expanded its doors by opening a branch office in Gallatin. In the summer of 2008, the company grew again with an acquisition/merger of a West Nashville firm and it’s agents bringing most of them into the Madison office with a couple going to Gallatin. In the fall of 2009, both offices were merged into their current location in Hendersonville.
Joey holds the CAI designation (Certified Auctioneer Institute) which he completed in 1995. It is a 3 course curriculum in which each course is taken in the spring on the campus of Indiana University.
Joey is active with the Kiwanis Club of Madison where he served as President in the 2007-2008, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 terms. He was active in the Madison/Rivergate Area Chamber of Commerce where he served as Chairman in 2003, served on the Board for Creator Kids Preschool for 3 years and attends Madison Church of Christ where he is a deacon.
Joey & his wife Shannon have been married since 1994. Joey & Shannon have 3 children: Elizabeth (1997), Jonathan (1999), Jacob (2000). All of the kids love ball sports (baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, football) along with fishing, hunting & swimming!
Joey is proud to announce that his son Jonathan, was a member of the 2012 Little League World Series US Championship team from Goodlettsville, TN. Playing in one of the most memorable games in Little League history. Up 10 in the last inning, losing the lead and coming back in the next inning and scoring 9 more runs to win 24-16 vs CA!!
