Jon has over 36 years experience in antiques and collectibles. He has been a well known antiques dealer since 1972 as both a shop owner and exhibitor at many of the best antiques shows in the country. He has been an expert antiques appraiser for over 25 years with many banks, attorneys and insurance companies including Allstate. Jon has been an auctioneer since 1987. Jon earned his Associates degree from Junior College of Albany, and B.A. from State University at Plattsburgh, N.Y., and was a Navy Journalist and is a Vietnam War veteran as well as a member of the University Club of Albany. Jon has also taken antique courses at Colonial Williamsburg and Winterthur Museum as well as seminars on antique furniture and decorative arts. Owner of Jon Lee Auction Service from 1991-1997, The Auction Gallery in Glenmont, NY from 1997-2005, and the current owner of Jon Lee Auction Services, he has conducted over 500 auctions, major estate auctions, on-site auctions, antiques, sports and collectibles auctions, and many estate sales. Jon's expertise is in the area of 18th and 19th Century American furniture and accessories, as well as European furniture, decorative arts, estate jewelry, artwork and silver. He is also knowledgeable in early toys, collectibles, sports, military and country items.
