Born in Charlotte, N.C. Grew up in the Paw Creek area of Charlotte. Graduated from West Mecklenburg High School in 1978. Member of Thrift United Methodist Church in Paw Creek.
2007 Graduate of Carolina Auctioneering Academy. Passed the North Carolina Auctioneers Licensing Board exam and became a licensed auctioneer December 24, 2007.
